General manager player personnel and strategy Chris Pelchen:
"We certainly haven't changed our policy. We're still working to a strategic plan that was written in 2005 and to suggest that we are going to top-up [with older players] would be incorrect. For us it was fairly quiet day, but it is early in the week, so we're certainly open-minded about doing some trading before the end of the week."

On Tim Boyle andJarryd Roughead: "At this time of the year, obviously a lot of things get speculated about and in Tim's case as well as [Jarryd] Roughead, clubs brought their names up – but we certainly won't be trading them [b]at this stage."

....

What Pelchen says means little about what actually happens behind closed doors.

I'd want a classy outside midfielder or key position defender for Boyle. But in saying that I hope we hang onto Boyle, he has a lot of improvement left in him.

But supposedly Pelch has only tagged Boyle with a 2nd round draft pick!!!
