We have developing talent on everyline now. I wouldn't recruit another ruck. We already have a heap of rucks on our list. They'll have to be < 25yo and highly talented. No room for middle-of-the-road types anymore. The focus is winning flags, and any decision needs to be made with that goal in mind. The Blues really are an exciting destination for any player given the quality we have, and our success culture. I have a feeling we might be offloading some players, and upgrading or adding latter picks. You can be assured Swann and Icke have been doing a lot of behind the scenes work on other trades over the past few weeks. :)

Spot on Parrot. We only need to focus on getting top shelf talent now.

Cloke was doin an ok job before he got injured,he and a few others can ruck till kruzer is good enough for afl level.shouldnt be a big worry with the potential midfield depth

I think Hampson could play more of a role as well in 08. If we can get a quality key defender our side will improve dramatically.

Sentana with another year under his belt may be that Key defender!

Let's hope Setanta gets the opportunity to stay down back all year. Not only will that allow him to improve as a defender but it will give us a better idea of his capabilities.

We could use him in a similar role to Eddie because Eddie definately needs another crumber to help out. I dunno what we'd have to give for him though, I'd only have a crack if he comes cheap.

Very hard to tell whether Aisake will make it but he has all the attributes. Has incredible athleticism and a bit of mongrel in him. I think there's a good chance we will see the 2 big Irish men consistently performing well at the top level in the near future. :)

Aisake is very raw, but is an unbelievable athlete. Saw him play a few Bullants games. Similar style of player to Buddy Franklin, but 6 cm taller. Very fast, and amazing mobility. Plays like a smaller midfielder. His ruck technique still needs a huge amount of work, and doesn't time his leaps. He's an excellent left foot kick, with a surprisingly fluent action. :)

Big smile on my face right about now. lol

I saw a passage of play when Aisake picked up the ball on the wing, ran off his opponents, and fired in a 50m pass to Hampson on the lead. I knew then that we had extreme ruck talents on our list. Adding Kruezer to the mix just takes it to another level again. Ackland's days are numbered. Hopefully Cloke can establish a role for himself as a tall utility - I really liked his attitude this year. :)

I think unless a ready-made, young key posi defender pops up, we work on developing what we've got.
Surely somewhere between Setanta, Jamison, Bower and Thornton we can scrabble the tall-part of a decent back six, with Anderson or someone playing on a small and Scotland and Walker running it out?
I'm excited about getting in Juddy, but let's not pretend we're instantly a contender. We're still several years away from that, so I'd be looking at youth and guys who'll be peaking in 2-3 years time. Ie. Setanta, Jamison, Bower.
