Saw this morning that Nathan Carroll was on the back page of the Herald Sun as "on the market". I know of the trouble he has caused at the Demons, however if he needs to be surrounded by new people do you think he is worth it? Was sensational in 2006, and will be even better at a club that shouldn't have the ball pumped into their defensive 50 more than 60 times a match too often.

I understand that there is too much of a risk there with his reputation and his transgressions at the Dees, however on ability surely he would be looked at.

Also saw that noone wants Johnstone - would be very surprised if his career is over and Hawthorn didn't take him in a PSD if given the chance as he is a classy outside mid. Once again though - his head always appears to be elsewhere.

Carroll's 27 I think. I don't really want him. Recruiting old players never seems to work.

North Melbourne are also interested in Keplar Bradley, I think they might offer their second round pick!

No thanks to Nathan Carroll. Gets lit up like up like a chrissy tree when matched with someone who has legs. Would prefer to play Zac before Nathan and that is saying something.

I also read something in the paper about us linked with Shannon Watt. Dont even think about it Hawks.

Shannon Watt=Kingsley Hunter clone.

Possibly this list of gun recruits from other clubs may help us err on the side of caution when considering recycled players.
Simon Minton Connell, Nathan Chapman, Barry Young :( Jon Hassall, Darren Baxter, Shaun Rehn, Randall Bone, Brett Ofarrell, Anthony Rock, Matthew Dent, Kingsley Hunter, Tim Allen, Ricky Nixon, Andrew Demetriou, Paul Sharkey :thumbsd:Austinn McCrabb  Shayne Stevenson and i have only just got started.

Carroll's a bum. We've spent years weeding his type out. We don't need to invite more of it.

I dont mind him as a player... I reckon he has ability and a bit on mongrel in his which certainly suits our current group. Would like him to be a couple of years younger but at 27 he still has 4-5 years in him you would think. Would suit our needs and give our list a lot more flexibility.

At the right price, a 2nd rounder possibly, i think Hawks would make this deal happen. Will be interesting to see what transpires. The bloke was red hot in 06 dont forget. He, like most of Melbourne, had an ordinary year this year.

I'm actually stunned he's on the market, would have thought Melbourne were about the last club that could give away tall defenders.

Nothing flash. Had one decent season in his career.

Was dropped to the magoos this season. Has had a year comparable with Leigh Brown.

Zero upside with Carroll. At least with Brown there is scope for improvement and he's a few years younger - just needs a coach to force him into the gym for a summer and impose himself on a game. Has all the skills - just lacks fore in the belly.
