First it was Meesen and Hudson who expressed dissatisfaction with the goings on at West lakes and now it is Mattner who has said enough is enough.

And he wants to go to Sydney, where they play a style of footy that, perish the thought, can even be considered to be worse than the Camries efforts!

On the Adelaide Now website people are calling for Reid's head, Jenny's head and for Burton to be traded instead.

Hahahahaha.

Can't wait to see the NEW & IMPROVED CAMRY CROWS lineup in the new year. Reckon they will get some quality replacements. :D

Neil 'Elliot Ness' Craig may need to move his family to safer ground to escape the fallout when all the nasty little 'Al Capones' come banging down his door looking for answers, options and solutions to their new & improved mediocrity, which is about to be unleashed at a venue near you in 2008.

Enjoy your new recruits cows, I know we will:D

You realise the Crow's went the entire season without Trent Hentschel and Biglands?

I wonder how the Power would have fared this year without Ebert and Lade........?

At least the rest of us wouldn't have had to sit through that discraceful Grand Final effort....because the Power wouldn't have even made the finals.

I dislike the Crow's as much as the next person....I just dislike delusional people more.

CROWS: EMBRACING MEDIOCRITY FOR A DECADE.

We have just as many premierships as you in the past 10 seasons. Add to that the fact that we are not known as the worst Grand Final side ever and our 10 years looks better than yours.

This type of thread will be so great to bring up when a demoralised port fail to do anything next year.

We won the 2004 premiership without Primus (at the time the #1 ruckmen in the comp) and our best midfielder in Josh Francou.
If they are relying on these two players to come back and save the day than it will be a good laugh:thumbsu:

I just love When Port people think they are going to be in GFs for the next ten years...Crystal Balling will only set you up for embarassment.

Facts are Ports young stars are very average. None of their KPP are young. Pettigrew and Chaplain are not a reliable backline Hoff has been found out and will struggle next year. Their rucks are the oldest in the land and their captain has one knee...Take the Cornes boys out of the team and the Power Switch gets turned off..

What Port do have is plenty of fast running weak bodied players that play with no heart..Guess what they got found out on GF day. THere is not a tough midfielder in there. All are receivers that wait for someone to do something or a spillage from the opposition. Works well against crap opposition but the stronger teams find them out...ie Geelong.

They had a lucky year this year....That wont happen again.

The crows experienced more pain. The analogy i will use to demonstrate this is if you put a frog into boiling water, it jumps out. (This is like the Power in the GF.) However, if you put a frog into cold water and heat up the water, the frog will not jump out and will die. (This is like the crows.) Because the crows are acclimatising to their environment of mediocrity they will refuse to act on the situation until it gets worse, much worse, which will lead to quite possibly a Richmond-esque type dynasty in the not-to-distant future. (We hope)

Hope this clears up the question of who experienced more pain this year.

yep we had a bad year...AND STILL MADE THE 8. That alone is a testament to how good our players are.

What an absolute load of crap...!!

Port were the team that managed to get their noses infront of a very congested group of clubs between positions 2-12. Beating Hawthorn in Tassie with seconds remaining on the clock (which says more about the Hawks than it does about Port) and then doing exactly the same to a Selwood/Ling/Bartel-less Geelong a week later, elevated Port from 6th or 7th to 2nd.....Gifting the Power a dream-run though the finals, and ultimately a Grand Final birth that they never deserved.

No it doesnt, it just highlights how average the competition was this season (with the exception of geelong).

Every season an average team who has had an ordinary year slips into the eight (eg port in 2005) and it only serves to underline how many rubbish clubs there are in the afl.

The point of this thread is to discuss the obvious player dissatisfaction at the crows. One player (mcleod I think) was quoted in the paper as saying "this is not a fun place to be at the moment" referring to the atmosphere at crowland.

The only players wanting to leave port are not getting a regular game so they want to get more opportunities which is perfectly understandable. However mattner and hudson are regulars which begs the question of whats wrong with the crows.

Hudson, wanted a longer Contract, doesnt agree with the Crows over 30/1 year policy

Mattner, a one dimensional player, Getting worse as the years go by. Wouldnt be in starting 22 next year. Oddly going toa team that is more defensive than us, that lacks flair and creativity.

There are the reasons. No doubt there would be some disgruntled players. Ther are some disgruntled supporters, (including myself) especially the coaching effort in the Hawthorn game. But these two leaving is not a symptom of this.

Go back have an honest look at your season. You played teams that were out of form and missing players. As well as that quite a few bottom sides. Won teh close games through opposition error. Hawks cant shut game down, tried too early. Geelong, Ottens missed hadball. WCE Cousins Hammy. Also rely on two players Cornes Boys to play well to win games.

Best win of season was at the G agaisnt Colligwood. Slugged it out in tough conditions agiant Pies who were in good form.

GF is a true reflection of where Port is at. Dont get to ahead of yourselves there is jsut as much work to do at Port as there is at Adealide. Lade wont be there for next real attempt at a flag, neither will Brogan. Backline is not AFL standard. Midfield full of fleet footed lightwieghts who struggle when going gets tough. Forward line full of Players who need everything to go right to post a score.

Maric will step up and take over as a mobile Ruckman. Bighlands will be number two ruck by season end.

Continued improvement of Thommo Knights VB Reilly Porplesia Doulglas.

Backline (Rutten Johncock Stevens) is young and Bassett will be back to play floating role. Macca is ageless...

Introduction of Tippett to inject some youth and movement in Forward line. Sellar to also make debut. Hentshcel to work his way back. Porplesia to play crumbing role.

Get back to the 2005 attacking style...We did lead comp in points for as well as least amount of points against in the 8.

Probably agree with you to a certain extent. Entering 2007 most reasonable port supporters were aware of the obvious structural weaknesses of the team (ie defence is v inexperienced and unsettled, we probably lack a tough inside midfielder, and a quality kpp without treadrea firing). We do have a fair few fast flashy players who can go missing in tough games also.

But to say it was simply luck to make the GF is laughable. Every team gets good luck and bad, difference is port were good enough to take advantage of their opportunitites presented whilst other teams werent.
