Plebs - perhaps they should merge with North?

Who are the Melbourne Demons?
I mean, seriously, these guys are a non-entity. They have to sell games to the Gold Coast to pay for the fact that the vast majority of their 358 supporters spend their time at the snow instead of the football.
Joke club, joke thread.

Just heard we will be playing you guys in the first round
Melbourne Demons v Tasmania Hawks Looking forward to it
Ah the Melbourne leachers! or mabye the AFL Demons given the amount of money that gets pumped into them.
What some of these fools don't realise is that the Hawthorn Football Club made a strategic decision to play games out of Tasmanian. Whether we agree or not, the board have very sound reasons as to why they agreed to the deal.
What these fools don't get is that Hawthorn is attempting to position itself to make decisions on its own terms and not be forced to by the AFL. I can't believe the idiocy of some people who are so blinded they can't see what is happening in their own back yard.

Hah Hah Hah. You are not the Melbourne Demons, but the AFL Demons. Your attempted taunt is so hollow it is not funny. I would much rather have my club make decisions on their own terms than be at the will of the AFL who can turn the tap off whenever they please.
The Melbourne Football Club is a joke and on every scale is so inferior to Hawthorn it is not funny. At least when we pick a interstate venue to play at, it is one where we get some advantage, not play Brisbane in their own backyard as a home game.
I personally have absolutley no respect for a club that lives a parasitic existence on continual life support. The Melbourne Football Club does not warrant a place in the AFL and that's what annoys me not petty little comments from people with little minds who support a club that has no identity, no direction, no permanent training facilties etc etc etc.
I think Melbourne should be known as the leachers instead of the demons - it is closer to the mark.:D:D:D
Forever remembered as the club that tried to vote itself out of existance.
Better have a membership vote to see if the Demon fans want to even turn up for Round 1 next season.

Oh if we are using the naming rights sponsor then
Primus Demons v Tasmania Hawks
How much do you guys get from your #1 sponsor, probably about the same we get from HSBC

Seriously I only know of 2 clubs in Australian Sport with less support and interest then the ‘Dees’…the Kangaroos and the Cronulla Sharks, perhaps you can merge with both :thumbsu:
The Cronulla Kangarooos?

Actually less.
MFC will 'break even' this year despite getting a 1,000,000 dollar handout from the AFL.
I guess another way of saying it is that Melbourne have less support, members, $$$, profile and modern day on field success then a TASMANIAN side...how sad for them :)

Of course many are going to speculate that Hawthorn are relocating when TASMANIA is on our jumper and we play 5 times a year down there. This sponsorship deal has altered the identity of the club.
The sad thing is next year Melbourne supporters can see their team play every home game. It's hardly fair when they are propped up by the AFL and it has to change.

“The major challenge ahead of the Club is to target significant growth in its membership base. We have fantastic support around Australia – and now it’s time for those supporters to become members. Really, our destiny is in our own hands.” said Cook.
“I will be focusing on continuing to offer members better value for their membership with some great initiatives that will bring the Hawthorn business and supporter communities closer together. We are a club that has over 350,000 supporters and we currently have only around 10 percent of them as members. We need to close that gap.”
