As seen and heard on channel 10 sport tonight in Adelaide, whats cats fans think of that....:p:D:confused:

Personally i think good & bad !? yes....get one road trip out of the way early and get our morale boosting win up front !! no...it would have been good to unfurl the premiership flag in front of the fans.

Meh. I dont care if we lose by 119 points this time around.

We still won the premiership ;)

Cant wait to see the flag let loose down at Skilled for our first home game :)

Not impressed, surely the home fans have the right to see the team unfurl the flag in round one.
Oh well off the watch the replay to get my spirits up again :D

Gotta agree. That is a crock of sh!te..... Round 1 should be at the cattery to unveil the flag, not on the road.

We're the pin-up team now, we should get the favors!

Another chance to humiliate them. Even better to do it on their own turf too.

Bring it on!

... doesn't matter what happens between now and Rd 1, 2008, we'll still kick their ass! :thumbsu:

Never been to Adelaide for a game before, but might actually do it next year, just to gloat a bit more!

The Premiership Flag is unfurled at the first home game of the Premier, so the unfurling in front of our fans will still happen.

As for the game, I'm a bit 50/50. Would have preferred a game in Victoria, but it gets an Interstate Game out of the road (would prefer Rd 1 rather than Rd 22). Thursday Night I don't have any real problems with as it's Rd 1 so we wont have to worry about any 6-day breaks. The plus side to that is we have an 8-10 day break for Rd 2.

Overall, would have preferred a game in Victoria but I don't mind as long as we win!

I hope we get to unfurl the flag in Geelong and Melbourne. I'm sure swans and lions did.

The mental scarring from a 119 point loss on the biggest stage of the year will be too much for the Power. We will destroy them by 100+ again.

Re-match??? Since when was the grand final a "match". Matches require two teams.

Port who???? That was great considering the torment we have been through.
nothing more sweater than smashing them on their own turf.

What about the "lid" in 08?

If that's the case then I imagine we will have a home game at Skilled Stadium in Round 2 where we will unfurl the flag.

West Coast had the same this year, played Sydney in Sydney. Don't mind, will definitely be there for the unfurling of the flag at our first Skilled game though.

Because Geelong hadn't made the GF in a while I actually thought the GF re-match was a standard affair for round 1. But after reading this thread it turns out I'm well mistaken.

Did some research and before last year the last time a GF re-match was held in round 1 was 1990. Geelong/Hawthorn. There were a few others in 88, 87, & 85. Not sure if its pure coincidence that they are all grouped together like that. Didn't bother to go back any further so feel free to see if there are any trends to it.

Hopefully the AFL do make a habbit of a round 1 GF re-match. Would be good to have some sort of traditional game per year that involved a team other than Collingwood.

The AFL purchased some new software last year, which makes it very easy for them to create the fixture now, as I believe in the past it was a very long task. So it was very easy to just put the GF re-match in the first week, which is what I believe they wish to do from now on.

Perfect Scenario.

One interstate game out of the way staright away, with an 8 day break afterwards.

Could not get better IMHO
