Lots of talk he will be coming as part of the TJ deal, along with Pick 14.
What do we think of him as a player?
Still relatively young, plenty of pace and would be a perfect fit for our HBF, perhaps releasing Bell for a run in the midfield.

Rhyce Shaw is 26 now and will be 27 next year. Cannt fit into Collingwood's best 22.
It would be nice to have:
Nathan Brown & Pick 14 to Melbourne
Johnstone to Brisbane
Cameron Wood to Collingwood
Then we can ignore Rance and will solve our FB problem. Then trade Carroll for something.

I'm sorry KTLK but there is no way that Johnstone is anywhere near worth Brown and 14. Take Brown out of the equation and it'd probably be fair. Take pick 14 out of the equation and I'd take the deal because Brown looks like a gun. Collingwood wouldn't give him up for Wood though. 14 + Shaw looks like a more likely trade which is basically just 14 + a couple of games from Shaw.

I see it as having Shaw on our list instead of Chris Johnson or Warnock. The guy can play and would contribute to the team or put pressure on guys in the team. But it doesn't sit well with our plans to build a team around the 22 year olds to get Shaw unless bailey thinks he can really play.

At least Johnson basically fits that age. Maybe we could get Stanley or Cox or someone else young? Heck I'd even take Toovey :p

I was just making comment as I would like this to happen as I know it wont. Should be fine with Shaw & 14. However, someone in our board mentioned a fair point. The point is why not negotiate with Brisbane's Pick 8 for Johnstone & Miller?
Do you think this deal is fair or 14 or Shaw is better?
Besides TJ, great opportunity to send Miller back QLD.

Guys sorry for intruding on your thread but getting a first round pick and a player is awesome for losing TJ IMO. Rhyce is an outside player (read soft as butter) but has pace to burn and breaks lines. His disposal is getting better and might be just the fit for you guys.

I won't bother spending too much time trying to think up a trade as I know it won't happen but I'd easily send pick 21 Collingwood's way for starters of we got Brown.

KTLK your trades have to be the most unrealistic i have ever seen. Johnstone for Brown and 14? CJ for a first rounder? We would never get a trade done if you were in charge.

We don't need another 27 year old Half Back receiver... we got enough.
Also we don't want to give Bell a run in the midfield leave in down back where he belongs.
If we can get Johnstone for Brisbanes Pick 8, i would be rapt.
Doesn't looks like Miller is leaving, so you can leave him out of the equation.
Collingwood is giving up Pick 14 and a player for wood and Brisbane is on trading these onto us, I would rather the player be Shannon Cox.

Don't know if anyone posted this but I don't think Shaw is part of OUR deal - he is only going to Brisbane as part of the Wood deal. He won't be on traded to us.

Think thats a bit too much. But what are everyones thoughts on Brennan, he looks up for sale for a high second round pick. I wouldn't touch him because it wouldn't make any sense trading TJ then picking up Brennan.

To be honest I wouldn't really want Brennan. He is a rather handy player but too inconsistent and, let's face it, we have enough of those around already.

Rhyce Shaw is crap... 'oh he is fast he can break lines'. yeah thats all well and good but he can't kick and can't get a game at Collingwood. He is a 2nds player for them so why would we want to get him? how are we supposed to win a premiership when we pick up players like Rhyce Shaw???

...not done yet but very strong rumour. But from what I can gather if TJ agrees to the trade then it will be......
R. Shaw + Pick #14 ---> Brisbane
C. Wood + (2nd/3rd Rounder) ---> Collingwood
--------------------------------
T.Johnstone ---> Brisbane
Pick 14 ---> Melbourne
If you ask me Collingwood are overating Cam Wood. Shaw is probably worth a 3rd rounder so its pretty much Wood for 14.

Why are the club so hell bent on trading TJ? Can't be money. Without Bizzell, Ward, Brown, Godfrey, Pickett, etc there would be plenty around. (Were chasing Judd remember). They get Meesen. Wouldn't be costing a lot. CC says they're going to trade for draft picks. What's going on? Should be chasing guns not trading them. They've put 10 years into TJ now they want to trade him and start again.
