This is a dark day with a twinkle of light for the Carlton football Club. This would be the day Carlton would remember for the next decade, contemplating what ‘could’ of and ‘should’ of happened

The reason why this day would be remembered is because this is the day that the Carlton FC got duded by WCE. Pick three and twenty would have been enough to snare Judd down to the Blues, but we acted like little kids at the Soveign Hill lolly shop.

It is really poor form from Greg Swann and CO. WCE was bluffing just like Hawthorn was last year with Eviritt and what happened? Swans persisted with there offer and Hawthorn knew they couldn’t get anything else from anyone else.

From this day forward I would not accept Greg Swann as a good CEO all-rounder I originally thought.

P.S Welcome aboard Chris Judd :)

Yes, pick 3 and 20 would get it done - you would know after all you were there.

The crap posted on bigfooty is hardly close to trade week. Don't be so naive.

It was an EXCELLENT deal for a few reasons that I won't elaborate on at this stage. We actually pinched a top-5 pick this year, so Judd effectively cost us only JK and 20. Kruezer is probably even more important for our future. We did well. Very well. :)

Ok, then add your post to the crap posted on BF. Why would you need to be there to know whether or not pick 3 and 20 would not be enough. WCE were playing hard ball, and we just milked them on. Pull you head in mate, and stop being so blind sighted.

I just think Greg Swann 'could' of gotten a better result

Move on, mate. Come to think of it that's not bad for a membership bumper sticker: Carlton - Moving On.

Why on every other board are other clubs supporters saying that the Eagles got screwed and that we got away with a steal?
Kennedy had potential.Chris Judd is Chris Judd

Shmuck! You got no idea....Too much of this garbage drek!
Celebrate, enjoy! We gave up sweet F.A. Kept the no.1 draft pick + got best player in the league -- he will bring out the best from all players in our squad.
We will see the effects immediately.

Would be very very surprised if get anyone near the quality of Simpson at #46 this year. The well runs a bit dry after 25-30 in this years draft IMHO.

And we got pick 46!

Judd was pick 3. 46/3=15.3

Therefore, pick 46 is 15.3 times better than Judd. Steal!

Think back to Friday before Rd 22 2007. If the gods had offered up the chance to win that game, trade Kennedy and a 2nd rounder for Chris Judd, and upgrade our 3rd pick to 1st in the process, I don't think there would be Carlton supporter alive who wouldn't jumped at it. We should count ourselves lucky.

This player ticks all the boxes lacking at Carlton:

Senior Player - 6 years, 134 games. 2 years as Captain.
Finals Experience - Played in over 10 finals matches and 2 Grandfinals, Norm Smith medalist and Premiership captain.
Quality Player - Won AA's, B&F's, Brownlow Medal, MVP, you name it. Arguably the leagues best player.
Age - at only 24 he fits right into that crucial gap we have and still young enough to be around his peak when the younger guys blossom.
Proffessional Attitude - Now we won't have to rely on Stevens to set that benchmark and should see the notch being lifted.
A Marketable Commodity - that isn't an idiot, or a new draftee fresh of the docks.

dont i remember james hird getting picked at no.78 or something? admittedly, the clubs look probably a lot closer at the players than they did a decade ago (so there's less chance of a repeat), but there's always a chance a 'dud' pick will net us a champion

Deep breath Judd for pick 3,20 and a player who till this day has done nothing and has shoulder concerns.....If this was in reverse we would be bleeding, as west coast are, from the fresh fissure.

I put Judd with Abblet, Carey, Hird, type players. He is better than Kouta. We have nopt just a champion, a gun, but a legend of the game.

Judd fit, will win another brownlow or TWO. He is WAAAAY better than Diesel etc.

Take stock guys. I put us to JUST make the 8 next year before the Judd saga. Judd is two positions on the ladder for a team like carlton.

Maybe Carlton are moving on without fixing the motor that was not running properly in the first place. As good a driver as Judd may be the car still may break down.

Whilst you may think Kennedy is sfa how do you know who we would have got at 3 and what he may have turned out to be. You seem very sure of yourself.

P.S Welcome aboard Chris Judd :)You're kidding aren't you? For 3,20 and Kennedy that is a real steal. To say anything else is an absolute joke. Swann resisted every pressure on the number 1 pick and held his ground nervelessly.

Maybe the trade is fair to both maybe not. However to be so sure we got a real steal is imo laughable. Only the most one eyed WC supporter would see it as a steal. What would have been a steal would be getting him in the psd.
