Probably will, just hoping you guys dont think Judd brings an extra 11-12 wins a year with him.

nah... expecting another 4-5 wins next year in addition to the 4 we were already slated in for.
I am honestly expecting around 9th to 12th on the ladder next year, maybe pinching 8th if we get a good run towards the end of the year.

Judd alone does not.
But next year we will be adding Chris Judd, Nick Stevens and Matt Kruezer to our list. Hampson (who was very highly rated last year) will get more game time, Murphy will go untagged (people seem to forget what his 1st 12 games were like, at that stage he was a CERT to win the Rising Star), Gibbs will get more of a free role as well.
Suddenly we get goal-kicking midfielders, loose players like Gibbs and Murph hitting Fev/Waite/Fisher and a heap of professionalism is brought to the training track.
We were a lot better than a 4 win team last year and to not make 11-12 wins would mean we have majorly under-achieved or we have been hard hit by injuries.

And I bet you have never got wood in your life.
Setanta is going to rip apart full forwards next season while Jamison and Austin start taking the lesser forwards. Thornton is our insurance policy.
Hampson is a ruckman pure and simple. He will be playing second ruck to Cloke for most of the season.

The only thing missing out of our backline right now is experience. We bring in one more experienced defender who can marshall what we have out there and we are well on the way to a finals appearance.
Expect something interesting tomorrow and in the PSD.

Hampson is 20 years old I think... enough said right there...
We at least have a reasonably balanced team. What has the filth got with all the retirements this year of your champions

but seriously, you guys will be in the runnings for the finals next year, you'll have a good starting 22 i think it will just depend how long it will take your boys to perform together well as a team, maybs first few rounds.

Yeah, I'm uncomfortable.
We have effectively thumbed our nose at a number of issues and dealt with two only. What if a player like Gourdis was taken with a pick from 20-35 and became a champion? With our actions we have essentially said we don't need him. How do we know for sure? We don't know what the future may bring but I can tell you we have made a statement that suggests that with the acquisition of Judd we can put up with a bit of mediocrity in other areas. How does this work? Judd will not make Adam Bentick quicker or more polished, he will not give Waite added bulk or improve his disposal, nor will he turn Brett Thornton into Mathew Scarlet or Silvagni. He will also not do enough on his own to cover the work of two-three pivotal players, especially if they don't play midfield. I hope Hughes has some real smokies stashed away in this draft. Otherwise, it is just going to make it harder and harder each year to deal with all of our dead wood.
