View Full Version : Can Kruezer play a role similar to Riewoldt???
I havent seen him play so I have no real evidence.....However, history tells me that these guys, 6'5+ guys who are elite athletes in a similar mould to Riewoldt and Goodes, should be saved from the crash and bash of rucking......
I believe we should play him in a similar role to Riewoldt as a lead up CHF who presents all day with very minimal stints in the ruck if at all, I don't want him to get bashed and battered....The camp suggest he can do this as well as play on ball like a Goodes type.......
I think we should develop Hampson and Aiaske maybe with a Steven King, and let Kruezer replace what was to be JK's role at CHF.....

Bit too premature to be making these huge statements about him. Let's just wait and see.

I am not comparing the 2, I am just stating that it should be the role plays....hopefully he can be as good.....

think dean cox cross Adam Goodes... that is Kruezer.
Most outstanding I saw the kid do...
The 2nd game of the U18 championships they gave the Western Jets ruckman a gallop and played Kruezer as a 200cm ruck/rover all day. It was amazing. His skills below his feet are great for a 200cm bloke. Will be a star.
Kreuzer is very hard to make a comparison to anyone in the AFL, however, I can't see him playing a similar role to Riewoldt. He'll either play in the ruck, and then he could possibly go and have a rest in the FP. Will never be a roaming CHF. Possibly has the motor, but would lack the agility and possibly the talent to play that type of role.
Still, the kid will be a very very very good player.
No' he's a ruckman who can spend time in other areas. Thats OK because Reiwoldt would be useless in the ruck.:D
Absolutely. Next year I think he'll be introduced rotating between a KP forward post with occasional stints assisting the 2nd ruck. The good thing about Kruezer is his massive versatility. :)

Sounds great, thanks.....
I can't wait to see him, sounds like he will have an impact in the future....

Hartlett should be developed as our future CHF.

Yep. I just hope he gets his injuries sorted. He has a huge opportunity now with JK's deperature. They were both competing for the same spot. :)

I hope he can be a CHB instead. That is something we really lack right now...
Kennedy is a big loss he was 10 year CHF for the club. Carlton have to draft the best KPP available with pick 36

Waite
Yeah but I like waite up forward with his agility, speed and good hands he troubles most backmen. Also Waites accountability is an issue but can be overcome. However his kicking has known to let him down which means shot for goal are often a hand on eyes situation. It will be interesting...

with Kennedy gone I would love to see him developed into a Paul Salmon type FF who plays occassional Ruck. This is assuming Hampson and Aisake kick on

God no, Kreuz's advantage will be running his opponent off their feet, getting to more contests than any other ruckman in the league....will be wasted in the FP......
2009, I would like to see something like this......Hampson takes the centre square hit-outs, with Kreuzer starting on a wing....after the ball up Hampson can push forward and play out of a pocket....with his pace, height and vertical leap he will be a nightmare match-up for opposition defences. Kreuzer runs around the ground for the next 20 mins using his engine and mobility to provide a presence, target, option bringing the ball out from defense, loose man down back, etc.... (basically running hte arcs), with Hammo doing the forward line ruck duties. Give Kreuz a run in the foward line for the last 10 mins of the quarter, Hammo to the bench and an O'Hailpin having a run in the ruck. :thumbsu:

The beauty about that is that we can afford to play 3 ruckman, as Aisake, and even Setanta for that matter, practically count as midfielders because of their speed. No other clubs have big men (200cm) with attributes like the O'hAilpins.
