for trying to turn our team into the Footscray B team, the Washington Generals of afl.

the quicker these 2 depart the better. Mark in round 11 when we are 1-10 on the bottow of the ladder and when other teams are brushing off our mosquito fleet of runners.

laughable.

I agree Terry Tan. Our team is like a Western Bulldogs MKII and to think a few years ago, we had one of the tallest forward lines in the comp (Richo, Ottens, Stafford - or whatever).

We'll get pushed off the ball so easily. Speed is one thing, strength you can't beat (see Geelong).

Strength is easily beaten or did you miss the poleaxings that the Roos copped?

Pfft, come on Weaver. The Roos have a different type of strength to Geelong. They had players like Archer and what have you. Geelong had players like Ablett, Chapman who are strong in the hips and shoulders.

I probably said it wrong. Course strength can be beaten, but its proven to be more difficult. You'll always have the strength, speed is something you get through momentum and strategy.

Still, we are a young side. Need more Jackson type prototypes.

They also only field two blokes under the age of 23 (N.Ablett and Selwood). When we get to that point Deledio, Jackson, Polo, Connors, Foley, Couglan, Tuck, Newman, King become the beginnings of a strong side. Who knows where Morton, Edwards and Tambling will get too.

They are also quick, and they also hit targets etc. You have to tick all the boxes and can't just target one area.

We need help EVERYWHERE.

We can huff and puff all we like but which big-bodied midfielders do you see getting shopped around? Which KP players are moving?

You can only but what is on sale.

One thing that is on sale is guys who can run and kick.

Putting all the speculation / rumours to one side, what have we missed out on?

Dempster, Schneider, Mattner, Meesen, Johnstone?

Spot on. Where was Drew Petrie in the second half of the year? Brown, Firrito? All went AWOL.

Wasn't there some ex-Richmond blokes called Hart and Malthouse that coached the Dogs? Both extremely successful and prudent decisions too as I recall. Whats that about people in glass houses? :D

First time coach at the doggies...went in with his vision of what was required and formed a quick skillful unit that lacked height..which to this day has haunted them. First time coach is also smart, learns from his initial outing as coach and when he gets his second gig, makes sure he adds height and class to the quick skillful unit he again is forming. If the doggies the height back then, they would have walked away with a couple of flags.
When you had a formula that fell short, you add what you fell short with, to it, which leads to it being a successful formula...TW is doing just fine.;)

Would be in our best interest that these type of threads weren't started ,if only to stop trollers replying too them, unless they are started by trollers in the first place. Know what I mean.:)

And didnt that tall set up bring the success we all were after.

If our future is a list like the doggies with maybe Richo,Polak and a couple of our young talls coming on I can live with that.

Wallace was building a list that went on to be talked up as Victoria's great hope 12 months ago. Maybe he would have got it right with some tinkering if he was still there.

Before that he got them one win from a grand final with a list that was not super strong.

So he learns from the failings of his unfinished project at the dogs and brings that experience to our side. Again I can live with that.

Size and strength come with years under your belt, Speed and talent you need to have before you get to the club. Given time we will tick all these boxes.
