Ratten interviewed on SEN, looking at Hadley today. Also Kruezer for number one no given, still assessing all options.
Talked up the young ruck options Hampson.
Who knows which way we will go.

I would love to see Cotchin end up a Blue however, I believe the club is more in need of a ruckman/KP forward now Judd has landed and Stevo is returning.

Healso mentioned that Kruezer can play forward which will be very handy.

We will definately be taking Kruezer.

Ok serious question

What do you think Carlton should offer us for Hadley?

No, he mentioned Hampson could play forward.

His only comments about Kreuzer were that "he did nothing wrong" at the draft camp. He also said it was very difficult to compare 6'7 players to 6-footers, especially given Cotchin is on crutches. He singled out Rhys Palmer as someone who has impressed the hell out of everyone at the camp.

I'd be surprised if it's NOT Kreuzer.

he hasnt give us a preference of where he wants to go - just meeting with one club

we will see what pans out shall we :)

Why does Hadley actually want out? Is he a Melbourne boy? Or is he not getting the game-time he wants at Brissy?

Would love to get Hadley.

Reports are that it will be for a late pick. Pick 36 and 46 are ours now, and if we could give the Lions one of these for Hadley, it would be a steal for us.

Hadley would be a great get with a late pick.

In regards to the Cotchin/ Kreuzer debate, I would still take Cotchin.

We will definately be taking Kruezer.

The recruting team will be assessing and working through all possibilitites before Nov 24. I would think Kreuz is still the favourite though.

IMO Pick 46 is enough for Hadley....two knee recos and we won't look the bad guys if he just goes into the PSD. If pick 26 is sufficient for Dempster and Schnieder, pick 46 is sufficient for Hadley

All the talk is Connors wants him in Melbourne. Who would pass up a chance to play in a midfield with Judd, Stevens, Murphy and Gibbs??

Fre who?

Hadley's a dud, bung knees, decisiion making is terrible, can't kick off his left.....Warnock is the one we should be focussed on, hell any ruckman.......Chris Bryan can back up Hammo

This bloke played his 4th game in a GF. Just playing devils advocate for a moment, if we take him we will have Cam, Judd, Stevens and Hadley all making us hold our breath every time they get a twinge anywhere.

Given he's played in a premiership midfield containing Voss, Lappin, Aker, Black and Power - I reckon his level of enthusiasm for Judd, 2 kids and Nick Stevens would be less than you suggest.

You're exaclty right, the Freo midfield is far more attractive :thumbsu:

I'd never poke fun at you Gilly... perish the thought:)

I'm happy with either lad:thumbsu: I'd prefer Kruezer, but there you go;)

The Morton, McEvoy options you threw up on the other hand are a different story:p:D

I know very little about Hadley,so I can't comment on his abillities.I do know he has had back to back knee reco's which may be an issue.Shouldn't we try for a defender anyway?

Interesting. I'd be more than willing to give up pick 46 and I'd also consider parting with 36. Either way, if we do get him I can't see us choosing more than 3 in the National Draft, otherwise we'd be going into the mid 60s in a week draft.

We woule be lookinga t Pick 46 which I hope we do. he could be a standout player over the next few years and give us much needed muscle. I hope not the PSD as we are still negotiating with Drummnd for that. TO get both would be a coup.

Seemed strange that he flew in yesterday, met with us, flew back home again and signed with the Lions. I'm guessing we didn't offer $1.2mill per year like we did for Judd.

The Lions will not trade Hadley for anything above 40. We have good young depth at the bottom of our list who have not been around for long. It is likely that we will take 3 or at most 4 players in the draft and accordingly 40+ picks are useless to the Lions. If that is all that is offerred the Lions will take the extra time and try and re-sign Hadley and if they don't then they will be in no worse position then trading him for a pick they will not use.
