This could easily be two separate headlines, but all the talk in MMA land lately has been of Fedor signing with minnow Russian fight promotion M1. Obviously MMA fans were pretty devestated when this happened as it ruled out ever seeing Fedor fight Randy and looked like Fedor would never fight the quality opposition we all wanted him to fight.
Now we find out that due to this Randy has quit the UFC. Huge news in itself, but it opens up the door for Randy to fight Fedor under M1. This is what Randy wants and the only reason he was still fighting. M1 would be CRAZY not to sign couture instantly, even just for one last fight.
Will we see the clash of the 2 best MMA fighters ever? Please god let it happen.
It was also interesting to read that Randy was very disillusioned to how the UFC were treating him and I also think this is why Fedor's management were at odds with signing to the UFC. They just don't like how they operate.
Good and bad news really, but I think competition is good for MMA. Could M1 be the new Pride?
Anyway, the biggest MMA fight of all time could still be on the cards!
What are people's thoughts?
