Im not doing to well at the moment
Schneider was my fave i had nick names for him like Lil 36 and Babe lol
and i hate that hes gone i havnt stopped crying since i got offical word from his brother!

Schneider was a truly amazing talent and a honour to have at the club!
Ill miss the way he would stick his tounge out while running or kicking the ball, His little grin when he kicked his goals and i will never forget those three massive goals he kicked against the Saints!

Im proud of him we all should be and even though he will wear saints colours...if you take away the black your left with red and white and Schneider will always be a Sydney Swan!

I wont support the Saints but ill watch every game Schneider plays in the years to come and Ill always be proud to wear his premiership number!

Love you Lil Snides!

Always liked Schneider - he brings something different to the table to a lot of our other guys and more often than not, tries to do something special. It's always great to see him running through the tiniest gaps in our forward line and takes a snap at goal.

I'll miss him and hopefully he'll do well along with Dempster, I'm sure he's someone that most Swans fans will remember fondly even though he now plays for another club.

---

Maybe there's a clause/gentlemen agreement between Roos and Ross that Schneider will be traded back to us at a cheap price once the likes of Crouch, Matthews and J.Bolton retires - that's why the saints got him so cheaply and dempster was included as a sweetener - maybe we're only 'loaning' him out for one or two seasons and we'll see him back in Swans colour somewhere down the line :D

Yeah, i think i'm gonna find myself watching every St Kilda game i can. I won't be cheering for them but i'll definitely be cheering for him.

I hope he can take his game to another level at the Saints and prove to everyone out there that we should have kept him.

Go Adam!!

If rumours are true Sydney will be playing St Kilda in the first round next year so we could get to see Schneider play straight away.

Well said. I'll always think of him as a Swan also.

He will always be a Swans premiership player. Those three goals he kicked that night against the Saints were sensational. I went ballstic when he kicked his third. Good luck to him.

yeah, me too....specifically that last quarter
we played such brilliant footy

i think my fave part is when they come back from an ad after our 5th or 6th goal, the miserable, glum face of that sad st kilda young bloke, and tim lane saying "this is not how it was meant to be"

fcking brilliant

they had an article today in the daily telegraph titled "schneider: A phone call that broke my heart"

even though he has gone to st. kilda, i hope he'll still have a soft spot for us as i know we all will

our team isn't filth,
and since he's a product of the swans
you can't call them filth without meaning he's filth

considering the joyous reception down at moorabin about the trade, im pretty sure you dont think he's filth

it will when he kicks them back at the sydney fans that miss him so much :(.. it will be good watching him help us beat the sydney filth

I am just worried that St Kilda will turn Dempster and Schneider into Chokers and they will sh*t themself in all big matches from now on.
Oh well, at least they have each already got a premiership medal...

He was a Premiership player for Sydney. Thus he will always be a favoured son of this club. But if Fitzroy can still claim Roos, Collingwood can still claim Willo, St Kilda can still claim Lockett (which they do BTW) and North can still claim Schwatta I don't see what the problem is.

As for getting one back on the *ahem* "Sydney scum". I hate to break it to you, but picking up Schneider won't get back those 3 goals he kicked on your September shy unit in 2005 anytime soon. ;)
I Dont think that schneider is QUITE THE PLAYER of any of those players..

so schneider wasnt a "TOP" player (in my eye he was) but that fact that he had the blood spirit a fave player to many fans and a grand final player is what made the trade sad/shocking!

I understand some people dont find the trade upsetting
but take your fave player from the swans or any other team...and imagine them being traded to another team for nothing/or so little when u believed that, that player would be apart of that team for many years to come!

Well i watched the replay of the news but no Schneider interview just the stuff about Jake Orreal i mean i wanted to watch it but im glad it wasnt on i would have cried my eyes out i still cant believe he wont be with the swans next year and i cant believe our first game is against him i love him i really do...

It's gonna be weird not seeing him run ou in red & white,
but i'll be there cheering him on at the saints game and hoping he gets a good game.
Maybe the deal Roosy worked out with Rossy was so that he could get back on his feet and then come back? Just expected someone of his potential with Dempster to fetch a higher pick. It doesn't all seem black and white!

I think we traded him as we had alot of pressure on our salary cap and we needed to get rid of somebody. He was a very exciting player to watch and it was be very hard to see him playing for the Saints.

I'm not exactly sure that we had salary cap problems as a couple of players on our list (Malceski, Jolly) actually got payrises this year.
I believe Roos just saw that with the elevation of many younger players this year, burst players like Schneider would have been granted little time in the seniors. Dempster was effectively made redundant because of the addition of Mattner, which is a pity because i thought he was really improving.

Both players were premiership heroes and favourites of the crowd, and regardless of which clubs they play in, they'll still remain a part of the club. At least for me.

I have to disagree with that. I think many supporters will always see him as a Swan regardless if he played for 10 other clubs. You can tell that his loyalty and love will always be with the Swans. No matter what, which is why he'll always take his Sydney Swans memorabilia with him down in Melbourne.

Oh for ****s sake, you're the ones who's annoying here. Post all your negativity about Schneider and etc. He's a crowd favourite and I don't give shit what you and ChikoRoll have to say about Schneider. He's a Swan, and will always be a Swan. I don't give two hoots if he was a crowd favorite. I follow the swans so they can win football games and win the flag..not for individual players who jump around acting like idiots after they have scored a goal or even a inconsistent player who continually misses easy shots.

And by your logic you must love the likes of Rocca and Grant and the plethora of ex swans who left to chase the big $.

this is EXACTLY right....it is because players such as schneider, with all that ability, did NOT step up, did NOT deliver on their potential, that cost us a second flag

even nick davis, a similarly talented yet underachieving footballer, managed to pretty much win us a crucial final off his own boot

oh grow up, cut out all this insipid schoolgirl drooling....he was NOT a crowd favourite by any stretch of anyone's imagination, he was a favourite of SOME fans, that's all...a crowd favourite, in terms of the swans, was paul kelly or plugger, and in the current era, the likes of brett kirk or adam goodes or michael o'loughlin are crowd favourites, and adam schneider is not, and never was at the level of those palyers in terms of either courgae and effort (kirk), football ability (goodes) or longevity (o'loughlin)....

And really hasn't done much since then and is continually plauded by swans fans online. I will give him his due about that final when he retires and i watch back and remember.

But as a current day swan - he is such an under performer - regardless of the stats that are thrown around by a few. To think how excited i got when I heard he was coming to the swans and how i couldnt really understand why the magpies were frustrated with him. I can now see why.

Spot on. Get over your fixation with his "cute" looks etc and concentrate on his footy abilities and aside from that final - what has he achieved since 2003.

Hardly set the world on fire for such a "crowd favorite". I heard more abuse thrown at him in the past 2 years than anything positive.

Hardly the stuff of a crowd favorite eh?

Now the day Brett kirk retires will be a sad day in our clubs history. Now hN is a crowd favorite and the type of player that epitomises the swans culture and never gives up.

Thats a crowd favorite.

No doubt Goodes, Kirk, Plugger and the others you've mentioned are better than Schneider, but the basic point you're missing here is what we see Schneider as a Swan. His loyalty which is cultivated around the club should be enough to tell you that he loves the Swans, and will always be one. It really doesn't matter how well he have improved, but what a mark/imprint he has made on to the Swans outfit (2005 and years he have played with us). And if you guys don't think Schneider deserved to be part of the Swans, or remebered to be a Swan forever, thats just being totally selfish. His passion for the club should really be credited here.

I never said he was cute or even 'drooled' all over him in this thread. Thats a different matter.

And we're not getting anywhere from this conversation because obviously our views are polarised on to two different ends of the stick. Good day to you all, and may the Swans prosper in 08 and onwards.

Adam Schneider is so dreamy, he gives me headspins. He gets me all giddy from just being in the same stadium as him. Now that he is gone i won't get that giddy feeling.. oh no, whatever shall i do!

/sarcasm

Seriously, give me a break. Yes, i'm a girl but that doesn't mean that the way i feel about Schneider is based on his looks. I mean, come off it.

Like every single player Schneider has let us down at some point or another.. whether it be a missed tackle, a miss at goal at a crucial time and whatever else but the fact is that he loved this club and i don't think anyone here can deny that. That's what makes me so upset about losing him.. the passion that he had for the red and the white.

I will watch and support Schneider for the rest of his career but obviously when it comes to Swans vs Saints games that support will stop for a few hours.

In the end us Swans supporters have 22 blokes that are our premiership players. I'll always love all of them for the joy that they bought me and so many other supporters on the last day of September in 2005.

ST KILDA defender Xavier Clarke says his team's rivalry with the Swans has been heightened even further with the additions of former Sydney players Adam Schneider and Sean Dempster to the Moorabbin fold.

"It (the rivalry) all started when they beat us in the 2005 preliminary final and then went on to win the Premierhsip," Clarke says.

"Pretty much from there, it's gone on and for the fact we've got Ross (Lyon) with us now and we beat them in the first game Ross coached and now we've got a few of their players.

"I think Ross and Paul Roos are good mates but they'll be wanting to beat each other each time we play."

The 24-year-old has had more dealings than most with the Sydney recruits; he's providing accommodation.

"Adam Schneider's moved in with me for a couple of weeks, just until he gets himself sorted out. I'll have to keep an eye on him though, I think he's going for my position," Clarke laughs.

Clarke has no doubt that the round-one clash of Sydney and St. Kilda at Telstra Dome will be a big occasion for his current housemate.

"He'll be pretty nervous the night before we play them but I think he's got a pretty good relationship with most of the boys so I don't think anyone will try and pick fights with him," Clarke laughs.

Overall, the defender says the new additions at Moorabbin, which also include Geelong's Premiership medal winning ruckman Steven King and fellow former Cat Charlie Gardiner, are in keeping with the group's ambition.

"It's good to have the boys because three of them are premiership players and that's the ultimate and what we want to do. So hopefully we can learn from them and they can pass a few things on."

St Kilda fans are really stupid. I went to the 05 preliminary with my sister and whenever we got a goal i'd stand up and wave my flag. So after i did it a few times these St Kilda fans behind me told me not to stand up and wave the flag because they couldn't see what was going on. It was like WTF? I was only waving it after we got a goal.. so they were missing the players walking back to their spots. Anywho, after that i turned around and looked at them everytime i waved it. It was extra fun during the last quarter!

as for the scum i know some of their so called fans who think they should have won that prelim.and they believe they should have won three flags in the last ten years, they are just d heads.they will never win a flag with duds like milne and st.kildas answer to mcveigh the clarke brothers.
by the way i love your passion for the bloods.

Saw him on TV in red, black & white.

Ouch at the way he played tonight, if he wins the Rd 1 game off his own boot, i'll disown him :)

It seemed uncomfortable and odd seeing him in red, white and BLACK. Its such a gross combination but he played pretty well yesterday, though some of his hand passes were woeful. Haha, he still sticks out his tongue when running with the ball.

ha
yes, i thought exactly the same thing...reminded me of his miss in the elim final v c'wood, when he took an injured micky o's shot from a much closer, easier position and missed
but generally, he was pretty good last night, i'd have thought not far behind gram, certainly one of saints' best
and in saturday's age he was focus of a big read, where he said he'd have liked more of a chance in sydney's midfield
which was something quite a few of us also wanted to see
without going on about it too much, it was another reminder that getting rid of schneids, for all his flaws, while keeping mcvacant was a mistake

It's not like it was one of the two though. Who would have wanted McVeigh? Nobody.

i guess i'm just hoping roos and the swans recruitment paid attention last night, and to schneider's own words yesterday

I'm certainly not sure, but I'd take a wild guess and say I'm pretty sure they were aware of both his intentions and outlook upon the future before the article.

I'm, worried about the way he is talking.

No bitterness but he is glad he's playing us in round 1,

I think he is determined to prove something to us and it looks like it could be in the midfield, where we need to win the game to stop the 2 KP forwards from St Kilda getting easy marks.

I will always respect Schneider but come the bounce in round 1 their will only be 22 swans and he sadly wont be one of them, so I do want see him get beat.

You know who I REALLY hate seeing run around in a saints jumper?

Lenny Hayes.

I love watching him play and it just tears me up knowing that he should be wearing the red and white. He's an awesome player and one of my favourite non-swans.

We traded him, he didn't want to leave. Last night at the game every time he got it he was booed by the Swans fans around me, really not nice. I turned around and told them to "STFU, it was our fault he was traded not his." They all shut up after that. I just want him back.

I wouldn't boo him when St K come down to play us in Sydney, I'd just snidely laugh if he sprays a shot again.

It's Nick's Birthday in a week, at the game !
