Ive just been wondering... What will Dees do with Pick 4? Go for McEvoy Henderson Grant Rance or go for a midfielder like Masten??
Cheers.

I think The KPP & Rucks are better overall at 4 than the midfielders available

Unfortunately this always happens with Melbourne.... 3 guns in the draft (Kruezer, Cotchin + Morton) and we have pick four. Happened in '03 (i think it was) with the PSD Big guns Rawlings and Stevens and we had pick 3. Ended up with Phil Read. Just imagine if we had of had pick 2.... oooohh Nick Stevens in the midfield....
We have to try our best for a good KPP.

I don't think the position really matters. I think we should just take the best player available, regardless of the position.

The position we need most is a key defender and that's Rance. He's ranked about #10 overall. That's why upgrading 14 to 7-10 would have been handy. Grrr!!!

Best available. It will more than likely be a midfielder as we won't take a punt on another KPP like we did with Molan. Pick 14 will be used on a tall with possibly pick 21 being used on a tall also.
I'm jumping on the Ebert bandwagon, seems like the best player available at 4.
It looks as thought our pick culd be used on any number of players atm. I'm happy for CC to use his recruiting prowess to get us the best player possible. But for us to come out and say with great confidence that 'such and such' must be picked up at 4 is a bit silly.
I have no objections for any of Ebert, Mastern, Rance, Henderson. I'm hestitant to get Palmer at 4, but his carnival was awesome, he ripped Metro apart. As long as they are greatful for he opportunity to play for this club, then I'll be happy.
We should introduce a compulsory 2 hour seminar with Nathan Brown for every new player who arrives on what it means to play for the mfc.
I dont think you should go for the Best available at Pick 4. Take what you need which is Rance. You'll only have 1 shoot to get him. Then with Pick 14 get your midfielder.
But thats just what i think.
1. Krezuer
2. Morton
3. Cotchin
4. Rance
5. McEvoy
6. Masten/Ebert/Palmer
7. Masten/Ebert/Palmer
should look something like that

Who's better, Rance or Henderson? And why?

Rance is the standout backman in the draft and Henderson is the standout foward. So comparing them with each other is difficult, but if we were drafting for our needs then either would be great, however if we pick Rance then there is a chance of getting a player like Scott Simpson at pick 14 or 21, who could potentially replace Neita. But if we choose Henderson, then Rance will be gone by Pick 14 and there arnt many quality Fullback prospects available at pick 14 (correct me if im wrong)
CC was on radio earlier today saying that we will be drafting according to the best player available and not our needs. Thats not to say it won't be Rance, Henderson or another KPP, but from all signs it looks like its gonna be a mid.

Should of thrown in Miller or Carrol or a 3rd rounder to get Brisbanes pick 8 so we could use 4 on a midfielder and get Rance with pick 8 but not to worry i guess we just have to get Rance... key backmen must be a priority.
They are on the right track with young Frawley but i hope him inheriting Nicholson's number doesnt curse him lol

Ebert is better than Masten
How can you possibly know that? Did you go to S.A and watch Ebert play? Did you go to W.A and watch Masten play? If you're judging by U/18 championships then Masten kills Ebert.
What would you guys think of Morton?
Because if Richmond take Cotchin instead of him, I see it panning out as West Coast taking Masten....

Personally I'd love Morton to be at the club, although a few here reckon it wouldn't be the best idea. Richmond though will more than likely take him after trading for his brother. I guess having his two older brothers in Melbourne will prevent any homesickness, especially if he's playing with one of them.
I guess it's a pipedream hoping that Morton or Cotchin will slip to 4, but there's no questioning that it'll be top 3 Kruezer, Morton, Cotchin. Stranger things have happened though...
Palmers stats in the WAFL were about double as good as Mastens

I'd prefer to take Rance, the guy was the standout tall defender and we're crying out for another one.

If you took any notice of the U/18 champs, then you would realize that Ebert was the hardest tagged player there

So...because he's tagged...you gather he is the best available mid after Cotchin and Morton. Strange criteria.

Rhys Palmer please.
Ready-made body for AFL, reminds me of Nathan Jones.

agree.........take the best player, pigeon holing players and selections on list needs is too dangerous a game to be playing with such a high pick. Ill take class in any postion on the ground.
Can fill specific needs with other picks in the draft.
Dont stress so much about all the hype on kruzer cotchin and mortan. Good players still get taken after the so called "big three" are gone. Remember in 2003 brock mclean wasnt even considered in the same class as coney walker and sylvia, they were apprently miles ahead of the rest. Safe to say brock is now way ahead all of them
