He wont read news people. He isnt fit for that, he will be a commentator, he has a great Cricket brain and the audience would love him.

Oh and imagine what kind of skits the 12th man could do:p

I would suggest that this is highly unlikely.

In my opinion he would have no aspiration to be a news reader. I would guess that he doesn't want that sort of profile, or that sort of structured day-in day-out job.

He doesn't need the money. He also is currently living in England, and I wouldn't be suprised if he lived there indefinitely.

Commentating I can definitely see him wanting to do. Not this.

He has moved back to Australia. He is living a couple of streets away from Simone IIRC.

Only for the summer, then he heads back to UK to captain Hampshire again.

Would be a fantastic commentator, but doesn't have the poise or the accent to be a newsreader. Even for sports.

Yeah he has a rough boganesque speaking style and he wouldn't be able to handle the news. If he took a course in literature and vocal training maybe he'd be a chance, but why would the great man go to that trouble just to get a boring newsreading job? Plus imagine when Peter Hitchener is breaking a story about Simone's latest accusations, he'd probably front up to Warnie 10 minutes later and ask "how's the ex wife Shane?".

As a commentator though, hopefully he takes that role - he'd be awesome. Good sense of humour and obviously a great cricket brain. Better than the old codgers currently commentating on 9.
