Guys a high profile West Coast Eagle has been arrested in Aberdeen Street, Northbridge.
I wont mention the players name until I have a news link, but it is fair to say this guy has a troubled past - could be the end of his career.

It was Cousins.
Given the latest scandal - is it time for the AFL to deduct premiership points from the WCE?
The club is out of control and it is ruining the reputation of the AFL.

Nope, but it might be the end of Cousins career.

Second Eagle arrested at a different location according to the radio.
Looking slightly dodgy you'd think. Certainly curtains for Cousins career.

The club should lose premiership points at the start of next year - start on negative 8.
Alternatively, the club should be banned from participating in this years draft and preseason draft.

Both were bare chested at the time of arrest.
Either they truly are posers of the highest order, or something very fishy is going on.
Either way I wont blood.

I am told its not related to Mainy, but to something that happened 12 months ago.
Does this mean they lose draft picks?
I recall Demetriou warning the Weagles during the year that any further slip up may mean loss of draft picks?:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Maybe Samantha has fessed up to what really happend at Chicky's place last year, when he belted Embley.
Not that there is anything wrong in that :D

If it was any other club, Draft picks and points would be gone. But Anderson in particular loves the Eagles and has no problems with them disgracing the AFL.
Looking forward to them finally getting hit with a massive penalty:):):)

ohh imagine that, think kerr will stay on his best behaviour but if the eagles lostcousins and pick three that would devestate them. effectively that would mean, judd and pick 46 for kennedy and pick 20. great deal that one hehe. would also mean we would go from pick 7 to pick 6. giddyup!

I wonder where it will end.

"TROUBLED West Coast Eagle Ben Cousins has been arrested following a police search of his vehicle in Northbridge - and faces charges under new drug-impaired driving laws.
In a move that could see Cousins become the first West Australian charged under the new laws, which only came into effect on Friday, Cousins and at least one other well-known footballer - believed to be recently dumped Eagle Daniel Chick - are being questioned by detectives at Curtin House."

That would probably be the "charge" they use so they can legally keep him at the police station.

Exactly, it doesnt make sense.
And why was the Gang Crime Squad involved?
I had a look on the Police website, and the Gang Crime Squad is (funnily enough) involved in investigating high end gang crime (often involving drug trafficking syndicates).
So if it was just a traffic offence why have Chick and Kerr also been named?
It doesnt make sense. Must be something much bigger.

yeah i would think so, the coppers wouldn't be that stupid. reports say he refused blood/salvia testing, pretty much admitting he's guilty - is it all coming from lawyer's advice?!
anyways, this bloke doesn't appear to show remorse.

Not as fast as you think. I just had a session with a WC supporter who is blaming the death of Wainwaring on Benny's current situation. These people are totally brain washed. It wouldn't matter what Benny has done it wouldn't be his fault. Really Sad !!

One thing worse than a person who thumbs their nose at society is someone who is too much of a coward to face the music when caught.
So Cousins runs from a booze bus and leaves his mates to face the music, refuses to apologise and gets his poor father to apologise for him, and now rather than take the rap for whatever is in his blood, refuses a blood test.
Cowardly behaviour !

If it comes out the only "crime" he is charged with is failing to give the police a blood test.... how hilarious is this whole saga. That law is BS imo, and even though I hate the Eagles, I admire Ben for not bending over to the cops on giving them a sample.

Actually he got charged with failing to comply with a request from the traffic act and also more importantly with having possession of a restricted drugs.
Looking forward to all of this unfolding.

yeah, but refusing a sample carries with it the same penalty as a sample confirming you to be driving absolutely belted! what's to admire about not giving a sample? if he wasn't high off his chops then it would've been galactically stupid not to give a sample! either way the only thing he gains is not having a confirmed test that he was under the influence so the media or afl can't have a go at him about that, but the penalty according to the law is the same though!

I can see your points and understand the "law", I just think the government or any of there branches doing blood/drug tests is too invasive and against our rights as citizens. It's a moral thing to me, against my values, which is why I support him. As long as that's all he did.

Viagra is prohibited to those without a prescription...like dexamphetamines or valium. No prescription = illegal drugs
It was always a matter of time for 'such is life'. He's a wanna be Coffin Cheater anyway, that is what he'll be doing in future. He'll probably be running some dodgey club in Northbridge like those types do.
I gotta admit, this whole saga made me smile this afternoon when I heard it as breaking news. I dont usually derive pleasure at other peoples downfalls but he has been given sooooooo many chances, and every time he has been smug and hidden behind lawyers/his father and shown no remorse. Finally when he is de registered as a player, we will stop hearing about him!
