as merrick & rosso noted,

the cardinal sin known as double-denim.. (eg. denim jeans + denim jacket)... not many people can pull it off...

My nominations:

Black Velvet - Alannah Myles. Not only denim, but a leather patch in the crotch. Classy.

Mona - Craig McLaughlin & Check 1 2. No explanation necessary.

What I Really Meant To Say - Cyndi Thomson. A "Music Country" staple this one. Turn on Channel 17 and see one of the best arses you're ever likely to feast your eyes on.

Shoop Shoop Song - Cher. Mrs Bono not only dons the denim, but gets Mermaids co-stars Wynona Ryder and Christina Ricci to do the same. Dodgy.

That said, Dexy's Midnight Runners are worthy nominees.

Go way back to the 70's. My sister used to love 'The Bay City Rollers', tartan and denim! Sad, sad, sad.

I think Girlfriend ("take it from me, I'll be good to ya, baby . . . ") were also guilty of the 5 matching denim ensembles, but at least it was the very early 90's and they had an excuse.

However, would you call Bon Scott's size 2 Faberge stretch groin-busters gratuitous?
