Being an Oakleigh resident and following Oakleigh Chargers when i get the chance, i have a keen interest in the players that go on to play AFL and i check up on their progress. So how did Nathan go? Will he be retained? Delisted? Unfortunately most experts seem to think he is just not athletic enough.

Unfortunately for Nathan he wasn't retained on our rookie list. I believe hes already moved back to Melbourne obviously hoping to get picked up and put on another club's list.

What do you guys think of Nathan Batsanis being delisted?

I was keen for Essendon to rookie him last year, and kept an eye open for mentions of him on this board. Seemed to be doing alright and be a chance for promotion.

Batsanis is training with Hawthorn. They do like going through our bins ... ;)

good luck to the lad
he had some good skills and was a little surprised we let him go. Thought we may have kept him on the rookie list another season

hope he lands a gig elsewhere

Terrible, terrible feeling about this one.

You dont get BOG's in TAC Cup GF's, kick 4 goals on SANFL debut without having a lot of talent.

I'd say there would be a fair chance he was offered a position on our rookie list for the 08 season but delined with the hope of getting onto a Victorian club's list through one of the drats.

I think Michael Stevens got BOG in the TAC Cup GF (we ended up spending pick 5 on him) and he ended up being quite a dud, thankfully the Kangaroos ended up taking him off our hands.

Not saying Batsanis won't come back to bite, just saying it shouldn't be the measuring stick.

Hawks want him and will probably pick him late in this years coming draft.

Have a look at the Hawks board.
