View Full Version : Sreesanth thinks India can win 4-0

http://www.smh.com.au/news/cricket/well-win-tests-40-says-unrepentant-sreesanth/2007/10/19/1192301041830.html

Don't mistake Sreesanth's conciliatory tone with resignation, however. Not only does the 24-year-old believe his side can win the four-Test series in Australia, but can do so 4-0. And he is not without evidence to support his claim. Since India's last tour to Australia in 2003-04, the side has won six of eight away Test series.

Now he's trying to be like McGrath and predict a big series win. Only difference is, one was talented.

Good on him.

We drew against Australia last time - 4-0 shouldn't be hard this time. ;)

You better not have bagged McGrath once when he had his predictions.:rolleyes:

Might have, you'd best check through all my past posts and see. :D

Well, there's something to be said for optimism, isn't there. I happen to think Australia will win 4-0, so at least we agree on the numbers.

This guys an idiot. Australia will win the series 4-0, unless there is rain and they will win it 3-0.

Would u rather Aus win 4-0 or the Aussie's win 2-1 with the last test being a decider an a absolute nail biter.

Personally I'm looking forward to the Aussies in the post McGrath + Warne era matches are going to become a lot more exciting with a more even competition

I will say, I hate the guy, but Pidge has done the same thing for years, so I won't rip his head off for this.
Anyone remember a certain '5-0' prediction in 2005 anyone? Watch those glass houses.

Sreesanth is a try hard.

He is trying to act like Pidge.

Pidge was Pidge. Trying to copy Glen's lingo makes him look like he is trying way to hard. Everything he says just seems so unatural & forced. He needs to be himself otherwise he will make himself look even more pathetic.

McGrath was the best fast bowler in the world for over a decade - bit different to a new blow-in who can't hold down a permanent spot in his average team.

I think we'll win it 3-0 btw.

I can't see us winning 4-0 without a certain SK Warne bowling on the last day.

Sreesanth will be lucky to be playing on Boxing Day the way he's going.

Sreesanth is a donkey.

He will be one of the first of the Indians to decide that touring Australia is too hard.

Looking forward to watching them crumble like stale bread.

It's amazing what a win in a hit and giggle comp and a couple of one dayers can do.

Test match cricket is a whole new ball game. The longer a match goes on, the more it favours the better team.

They can barely go with us for fifty overs. How are they going to last five days?

Hopefully Sreesanth's views aren't shared by the rest of the Indian team.

You know we will smash them.
I remember you saying Australia might as well not even show up to the Ashes and we won 5-0 so your opinion means shit.
India will be tougher than the pathetic Lankans but we should still roll them. Tait to take about 50 wickets.

On a flat MCG track, if Aussies play Tait and Lee India might not lose a wicket :D

England were pretty awesome on Boxing Day weren't they.
Tait will dominate on the MCG.

Are you serious? It was probably the worst Australian side bowling wise for a long long time - Hogg had to be rushed in for his first Test in 7 years. Even the current bowling attack would fare better.

It was a pretty bad attack and Aussies probably didnt think it could get any worse, untill this year :D

But Hogg didnt play that series :confused:

Bichel, Bracken, Gillespie, Lee, MacGill and Williams

Really looking at it those bowlers aint worse than what the Aussies are likely to have for this years series
Lee = Lee
MacGill = MacGill
Bracken > Johnson
Gillespie > Clark
Bichel > Tait
Williams = Hilfenhaus

I'd rather us win 4-0 and absolutely smash them in every game. The same way I hope we smash every team we play. Who the f-ck wants to lose a game purely so it's more exciting?

It's so easy for Sreesanth to talk it up, but he's done nothing to back it up yet. This will only give the Aussies extra motivation.

Sreesanth is a joke. He should focus on making the team first.

At least with the Pidge, these predictions were always a distinct possibility.
The only game Sreesanth will even play is when India are 3-0 down going into the 4th Test, and we're looking to make it a clean sweep.

Most moronic prediction yet heard from a cricketer.

The theatre going yuppies and chardonnay sippers who think cricket has become boring because Australia win all the time. Them and the odd moron around here who would kill to see Australia get dumped on but deep down know it won't happen so revert to petty childish crap. Won't mention any names o'course.

Reminds me of that peanut from England a few years back who carped on about how he preferred playing Test cricket to One Day cricket - before he's actually played a Test.

Abso ****ing lutely. I can't believe people who say cricket is boring now because we dominate. Ask those who were around in the early 80's what they'd prefer.

My favourite one-dayer. Australia v Namibia, 2003 World Cup. Australia 301, Namibia all out for 45.

That's how I like them, an absolute brutal crushing.

Agree

Like some of those wins in the WC or bowling USA out of 65 a few years ago.
