Pardon my ignorance but what exactly involves the role of a football manager? How much of an influence do they exert on the playing group? Do they have a match day role as a coach?

I think its really quite behind the scenes but that might change for CC with his "coaching experiance" and all. I keep forgetting we have him.

think the neale balme role at geelong, CC will be doing this
ie: letting bails coach and worry 100% about the onfield stuff, and cuddles will take on everything else
its almost like a 2 headed footy department, one on-field and one off field stuff, although CC's coaching experience can be nothing but an advantage for us
add this to the appointment of wellman (our backline is gunna be tough now!!) and a real development coach for the kids, things are looking good inthe FD

Yeah hopefully this is true. I never really liked the idea of Daniher being the president of the AFL Coaches Association, it probably wasn't the most strenuous job but unnecessary never the less IMO.
