View Full Version : Anyone here upgrading membership?
I currently have an associate membership as I live in the country. I'm thinking of going to a country membership (premium). Anyone here had any experience with the country membership?
TIA

I have a country membership and think it works well. In the past we have chosen the five games we would like to attend, but from now on there will be 2 packages to choose from (one containing 5 games including the home derby, the other containing the other six games).
The seats are pretty good, I've always been either on the 50m on the members wing at the city end or in the first row behind our interchange bench .They send you tickets in the mail as if you have purchased them through ticketmaster but the price is marked as complimentary.
How much does an Associate Membership cost you? It's probably not much less than a standard country membership anyway? You can choose to pick up your Country Membership tickets at the venue so even if you can only attend a couple of games a year it would be worth you getting a couple of Country Memberships, then let friends/family who live in the City to use your tickets for the other games (or use their address to have the tickets sent to for your 5/6 games).

Can anyone get country membership or is it only if you live a certain number of kilometers away from perth. the reason I ask is that next year I will most likely be sent to some remote school to do my prac work and as such will probabaly not be able to attend most of the games, so if I oculd change to a country membership it woukld suit me much better, herein lies the problem, as i odn't know where i'm going to be sent and won''t know for another 5 or 6 months i won't be able just to fill out the forms in time as by the time i kow i'll probably be half way to woop woop, maybe even near your area bushie
Emo - you have to live 180 km from Perth to qualify for Country Membership. Are you a teaching student?

I live in the metro area but have a country membership. My chosen field requires a lot of weekend work and I spend a couple of months every second season overseas so it suits me well.
It depends on who you speak to on the phone. If you get someone helpful and explain your situation I'm sure they'll let you change to a country membership.
Keep in mind though Emo that you will lose your seats. I had awesome seats when I switched to country membership at the end of 2003, and will end up with really shitty seats if they ever abandon country membership (which the eagles did when they had more members than seats).
Thanks guy. Associate membership is $140 but you used to get two ticket to a game of their choice but that has gone by the by this year it appears.
I might have to go country membership this year and make the effort to get down to Perth for the games before they do away with the country membership. This year we could only get to the one game but that was because we could never get tickets when we wanted to go.

Yeah, did two years of Psychology but didn't enjoy it, then did two years of biomedical science but didn't like it and well went through all the different units that I'd completed and with those 4 years and the units I'd studied when I overloaded my electives it turned out that I was only 1 semester off from being able to go on prac, so that's pretty much what i'll be doing next semester, getting myaself ready for prac.

So you are a 37 year old Uni student with a $375,000 hecs debt?
i had a country membership cos i liked the fact i could pick the games that suited me - as everyone else has mentioned they're usually pretty good seats apart from bizarrely the carlton game:confused:
but as they are going to "packages" this year so you can;t choose the matches you want
i will down grade to budget & get a "full" membership for less money
