View Full Version : Tigers trump blues on major signing

Richmond Football Club are thrilled to announce a major coup in the signing of a leading player development manager. Greg Miller just announced on the Tigers AFL website that SEN's own BILLY from Nth Heidelberg has been appointed as their new player development manager. Greg Miller also said that they beat many of the other clubs in the race for his signature. The package of Mcdonalds coupons and free Blockbuster videos for 2008 was far better than Carlton's offer.

Billy was reported as saying that Judd, stevens, murphy and Gibbs were all "DUDS" and he looks forward to teaching players like Tambling,Oakley nichols, Pattison and meyer - players who he feels are stars of the future. :):p

As a late night listener to SEN, I look forward to Billy ringing in each night. For those of you that don't know, Billy lives with his mum in West Heidelberg. Billy always talks Richmond, is the typical passionate Tiger's supporter, however is more intelligent than an average Tiger fan, as this comment from Billy testifies,

"Greg Miller is a dud. Richmond should get rid of him."

I really doubt Billy would take a job at Richmond until Greg Miller has been moved on.;)

Miller has taken him under his wing and Billy will replace Miller when he finally gets the sack... no hold on we want Miller to remain so genius selections like Tambling, Krakour, Meyers, Pattison, Oakley Nicholls, Knobel, Kingsley, P Bowden, McMahon (for pick 19) can happen year in year out... and to smokescreen his poor performance as recruiting manager he can "keep Carlton honest" and giving senile old men like KB hope that "Richmond are in the Box seat to get Chris Judd"...

It's like a travelling circus down there at Tigger Land

The pies payroll was already full with the recent signing of Joffa as club psychologist. Expect Billy to be a guest on Hungry for sport with KB. KB was apparently working feverishly behind the scenes to convince Billy to be a part of the Tigers next flag in 2025.

Billy Bob was so confident that Richmond and Mrs Miller were going to land Juddy and then the poor petal started crying since they lost him.

He always pays out on Carlton every time he calls up the little twerp, and the funny thing is I don't think he's ever been a paid-up member of Richmond.

I said it twice because it obviously didn't sink in the first time. Carlton supporters are showing ridiculous arrogance for a team that has lost 11 straight games. You people need to be reminded that you actually have to do something on the field before you have anything to gloat about.

For a start a good read of the rules would explain things a little better to you. I suggest you heed that advice.
Whatever reason this thread was started has nothing to do with you. It's on the Carlton board and therefore you, as an opposition supporter, have no right of reply at all. So the 'little latitude to make comebacks' you expected won't be forthcoming. However if you keep on with your rubbish a red card will be!

All I've said is that Carlton supporters should wait until the 11 game losing streak is broken before getting too carried away.

I haven't read your board's rules. But let me guess:

I haven't read your board's rules. And this is where it all falls down. The rules are fine, easy to understand but nobody reads them. They take what they see on other boards and assume the same applies everywhere.

We try to educate, hell there are always threads on other boards warning of the consequences of posting here. All boards have them, we just apply them consistently so as not to cause confusion.

We get bagged persistently for our moderating, yet in the end it comes down to the one point .... posters don't care about reading the rules so they are taking on all responsibility themselves.

We only want informed and respectful opposition supporters on our board, it is that simple. If anybody finds that the above description does not fit them, then they need to have the discipline not to look OR simply request that their access to the board is removed so they do not have to drive themselves crazy and test their self control.

This all boils down to you not bothering to read the rules of posting on this board. If you want to be critical of Carlton you can do it on Bay13 or the Main board.
Whatever happens on the Richmond board(or any other team board) has nothing to do with how the Carlton board is moderated.

I hope this is not a long term affliction.

Carlton supporters can post freely on this board aside from personal abuse and swear filter evasion and the like. If something on the Carlton board upsets the supporters of an opposition team, feel free to express your displeasure but do it with tact. You can not return fire with fire. A well thought out response usually beats spiteful rhetoric anyway. If you are clever enough to do this, fine, happy posting.

If someone says that Richmond is crap in the comfort of their own board and a Richmond supporter says that Carlton is crap in return, all is not equal. One has voiced an opinion in the appropriate forum while one has voiced their response in an inappropriate forum. Feel free to spell out the reasons why what they said is not accurate, but refrain from turning it into a *** for tat arrangement.

We will often close threads that are nothing but inciteful and therefore draw trolling but it is also up to the visitor to not get drawn into it.

If you just have to have the right of reply and believe that you are going to bend a few rules to do so, you might want to start your thread on Bay 13. This board is not going to become a slagfest either way.

You guys cop it because it is not your board and you do not have the same rights, quite simple. It's not a matter of being soft or not taking criticism as we all answer criticism on the main board and on Bay 13. I will even answer criticism on team boards.

Let me give you a fictitious example.

Richmond board.

Tiger fan: Carlton are crap and cheated to get all of their flags and will be down the bottom for 10 years.

Me: I disagree. Carlton are building nicely and sooner rather than later we will rise up the ladder. We have a solid core of players like <insert names here> etc etc. The evidence that we cheated to win flags is just not there. It is a sweeping generalisation that those less inclined to do their own research are likely to follow.

Example over.

See what happened there? I defended my team, did not attack the Tigers and showed up the poster for being ignorant without actually calling him anything.

Now let's see if you are able to do the same thing with the remaining point you have left.

Regards

Some idiot: Some unfunny joke about Richmond being crap.

50 more idiots: HAHAHA that's so funny. Richmond are indeed crap.

You've answered your own question. You allowed some silly posting to get you to disrespect a team on a team board. Now if a poster of ours personally attacked you and you defended yourself similarly, I would probably cite provocation and delete the posts. If they attack your team however, the onus is upon you to respond carefully if you must respond at all. Otherwise it is Bay 13 all over again.

Do what I do, ignore the rubbish on team boards. It is just supporters blowing off steam amongst fellow supporters.

If you don't have self control and then complain further when a mod pulls you up, you are in a no win situation as the rules of the board do not protect you and they are applied consistently.

Posters were slagging off and you got dragged down to their level. You have the ultimate say in whether you take the bait and in how you articulate that response.

That's the thing. I haven't been throwing $hit. My only point is that you should break your massive losing streak before you go hanging sh!t on other teams. If that's a cardable offense then bring it on. I can't really be bothered with BF anyway. One of those most moronic places on the interwebs.

Yes. We also won the wooden spoon. We also realise that Miller is a drip and that Wallace has five year retirement plan. Most of us also realise that our list needs a lot of work and that we are probably 5 years off contesting finals. There are a lot of things we are aware of.

Most Richmond supporters make a lot of sense. We are extremely aware of our current situation and know that the road back will not be easy.

That's the thing. I haven't been throwing $hit. My only point is that you should break your massive losing streak before you go hanging sh!t on other teams. If that's a cardable offense then bring it on. I can't really be bothered with BF anyway. One of those most moronic places on the interwebs.

This is all too hard. I've had a bitch of a day at work and now I am finally home. I am going to sit outside on my sundeck, marvel at the breathtaking view and open a bottle of red and let the stress go. Tomorrow is a public holiday in Hobart so it's all the better.
You really have tried my patience. Either you are deliberately being a pain in the arse or you honestly just don't get it! I give up, I really do.

Can you explain to The Ranger that this is how you should act on a team board? He seems to be having a little trouble understanding.

Your are correct about the road back not being easy. We've been on it for quite a while and keep hitting detours in it. Not easy at all, but you just have to keep on going.

Yeah. Well, it might have been a good idea to wait until you won a game before you all started getting carried away. After all, Judd may never be Judd again and you might be bottom four for quite a while longer yet.

What ?.....you think he will wear a bra and a g-string and become Mrs Twigley ?

We heard Wallet has a plan to move out of the bottom 4 some time over the next 5 years and hopefully play in a final in 10. But you are relying on Jordy McButter to lift you. My guess is Judd will have a bigger impact for Carlton and it will be Millers hacks that stay bottom 4.

We are more optimistic at Carlton and look forward to being on top of the ladder for a day after we meet you in rnd 1

Very funny thread

I'm obviously referring to his fitness. He'll probably come back and be fine, but it's not guaranteed.
