I don't have a really problem with some private school kids, some I my good friends go to private schools (but not here). But there is just something about this particular school..... not sure what but I don't really like it or the people who go there, they can be real b******.

Never posted before but read religiously, being lost in the wilderness of Arnhemland, relying on Foxtel. You're all so young! I was out of nappies by the '58 Grand Final. Born and bred Magpies - mum grew up and was neighbour to the Rose family in Nyah West; dad went to school with Pies players o f 50's and 60's. I married a "Carlscum" of longstanding so a mixed marriage of nearly 30 years. Two degrees; lived in Melbourne forever then moved to the outback - high school English teacher. Two grown kids, support Essendon and Melbourne, but worse, played Rugby League since moving to NT, even represented Australia all through their teen years. Two grand-daughters and one grandson - my last hope. Find BF really enjoyable - there are very few amusements remote communities- and my biggest regret is never seeing Buckley play "in the flesh" so to speak , but suffice on memories of Daicos, Pants, Rowdy, Greening, Price, Thommo, Tuddy, Gabba - Gosh I'm old...I'll stop now due to dribbling on, but tell those yunguns to do their homework!

Before uni I worked at an outsource call center working mainly for Telstra. Whilst there I got my quals as a trainer from Melb uni and spent most of my time training and team leading (When people cracked it and said "put me on to your manager..." I was that guy).
Was just young enough to hold a membership in 1990... not that I recall much of it.
And the future holds? Lots I hope. Although I'm not pinning myself down to one career path, I like to think I have lots to offer and plenty of time to enjoy my options.

Here goes, I had Gender Re-assignment surgery, most of you know anyway so it's time to bring it out in the open. This may explain some of the crap I cop for some of you that wondered. Boy to girl....
I didn't choose to be trans, I would not wish it on my worst enemy. Normally it takes years of talking to the doctors before they can say one way or the other, with me it took just over 6 months. People that had known me for years all agreed it was right, one person called me back with the words "now you make sense". They're looking for a gene and think to have found it, I hope they have and can "breed it out".
I think it would have been braver to live the lie, now I am who I should be.

Might as well join the party.
Early 20's, studying atm and play poker part-time to support myself.
I do a lot of reading/writing and watch/play a lot basketball. And increasingly, I spend a lot of time on BF to distract me from my exam preparation. Time to get back to it!
I hear you Clem, I too suffered from this affliction until today.
Plenty of cyber support to you! Hope you kill your eggshams.

Meh, what the hell.
All about me,
wrong side of 40, 2 teenage kids, worked for one company for 20 years until leaving during 06. After taking a break and doing some home reno's and having a holiday, I've started looking for a job again and doing some casual labouring work 2-3 days a week to get fitter and provide some beer money. (why pay money to go to a gym when you can get paid to carry furniture and 20kg boxes up and down stairs:p)
Starting a grad cert in IR this year to keep the brain ticking over and live not far from Bundoora (but not quite far enough, more culture in a bowl of yoghurt:D)
Did I mention that I'm also petitioning the architects institute of Australia to insert a rule that before any architect is allowed to start designing things for real, they have to work as a removalist for a month first? Maybe then they'll stop designing pokey frigging 3 story townhouses with cramped narrow stairways that look "funky" but are impossible to get furniture in and out of.
Just read through the whole thread and thought I'd do an edit. very shortly after the post I'm quoting i got offered a contract job doing what I used to do (Human Resources Manager) and 5 months later I'm still there and permanent. Wasn't sure if I wanted to go back to being a shiny ass again, but I guess 12 months off recharged the batteries.
Oh, and Tess, goodonya.:thumbsu:

It seems the reason a lot of people are posting in this thread is to avoid study... and I am no different. I'm 21 and I'm around half way through completing a commerce/law double degree at uni, honestly don't know why I am doing it. My old man gave me no choice who I followed in the footy and I'm very thankful for that. I dont get to go to many Collingwood games due to part time work but I go to them when I can.
I don't post on BF very often as I dislike people using who I barrack for as a reason to shoot down valid points & I don't really feel the need to force my opinion on others all the time but I do like to contribute evry now and then. I do enjoy reading a lot of the posts on here but I have to steer clear of the pies boards after a loss, I can't understand how people's opinion about the players, coach or club can change just because of one game.
On saturday I'm flying out to europe for 3 months or so to see what all of the fuss is about (and also to get away from the annoying uni types). I'll obviously be keeping an eye on the pies results, I'm travelling with a mate who is also a pies fan and if by some chance we make the granny we'll be coming home early. Heres hoping!

You'll have a ball. Although I'm sure your trip is well organised by now, my favourite places I went to in Europe are Italy, Prague and Scotland. In Italy have lots of Coffee, Pizza, Pasta and Ice Cream. In Prague just drink 50c beers and observe the stunning scenery (don't make my mistake and go with a girl!!). And if you get the chance to go to Scotland, don't make the mistake to pass by Glasgow as it is one of the best cities on Earth (just watch out for Neds!)

Ha! I'm flying out to Europe on Sunday for the first time as well. :thumbsu:
I'm going to France, Italy then Spain, but unfortunately only for 5 weeks. Still, should be excellent.

Such exotic foods! If only we had that in Melbourne :p. I kid, will be great to try the real thing after so many years of imitation Italian.
Actually, I have a night or two in Bologna, where I understand horse meat is a specialty. :o

OK so we are being 100% honest hey ....well here goes.
I'm in my early 40's, single and live as my elderly mothers carer as she has dementia both my siblings live far away. One on the Mornington Peninsular and the other in Adelaide, they seem to think I have it easy ........
Last year I after many years of waiting had major surgery, I wont say life changing as the decision to commit to the surgery years ealier was the life changing bit but close enough to it. Here goes, I had Gender Re-assignment surgery, most of you know anyway so it's time to bring it out in the open. This may explain some of the crap I cop for some of you that wondered. Hopefully bringing it out will also put stop to the snipping as well.
That takes guts to admit that, good on ya Tess:thumbsu:

Was actually thinking of this at the outset. I have a theory that our posters - especially the young ones - are in the top 10% of the pop as far as grey matter goes.:thumbsu:
I didnt think Collingwood supporters were smart enough to go to Melb High

I'll keep it short.
Just turned 18, so i was alive for our last flag. :D
Carpentry is my trade, don't plan on doing it long though, just passing time at the moment.
Play under 18's footy, CHF/midfield, probably don't earn my position but hey. Most of my life revolves around footy/other sports (cricket, tennis, soccer etc.). Talk footy during the week, play/watch it on the weekend, go out with my team mates after.
Got an awesome family too, older sister, even older parents, love them though. ;)
That takes guts to admit that, good on ya Tess:thumbsu:
Thanks to everyone, it did take a while to decide it's time to just say it but I am glad I did. I don't expect special treatment, I just expect the same rules as apply to others being enforced ..... but hey shite happens.

Im in year 12 at the momment, got an apprenticship lined up in cabinet making next year.
Play a bit of footy for fun in the under 18s, but take me cricket a bit more serious. Loving being 18.
