I wondering how serious are the guys during this series v Pakistan because I have a priceless quote here.

I thought it was a terrible decision to bowl becuase England was playing (on the TV) and that's who I'm after in the World Cup. - Adam Gilchrist (vice-captain)

Makes you wonder.

Every one-day game is important as we're building up to the World Cup next year and our players need to experience as many pressure situations as possible to prepare themselves for what they may have to face in South Africa.

I have no doubt the Aussies are taking these matches seriously, but you'd have to question whether Pakistan are!! The fact that Abdur Razzaq and a couple of other Pakistan players (Sacqlain??) chose to stay in England and play county cricket is beyond me. The Aussie players like Andy Bichel given that same opportunity are here playing for their country, which says a lot in my opinion!! ;);)

Cheers!!

Ponting sounds serious enough in all the media interviews, but I guess that would be expected from him as captain.

Gilly's comments didn't sound too crash hot :D

IMO the guide to serious cricket is when Richie Benaud is commentating the game. Mark Waugh's a shocker at the job!

The way some of the Aussies have been batting it would seem that they are not taking it too seriously.

I have never seen so many blokes playing park cricket-style shots in international cricket. If they do that in South Africa we won't make it past the first round....
