hey was surprised to see this guy cut, as he was a top 10 pick 4 seasons ago - what type of player is he? i had a look at the freo website but doesnt suggest much.

only four games though - was that due to injury, and if so what sort of injuries?

hope you guys don't mind me asking - seeing he is a victorian boy originally - i have a bit of interest in him.

thanks:)

what position did he play though? a midfielder? or a goal kicking flanker?

was his injuries breaks or knees, and ankles?

He is quite flexible. Can play midfielder, HFF and HBF. But he mainly played as a midfielder. He has had a terrible run of knee injuries.

cant believe people are saying he is just not good enough. he is a jet and given a good crack at it would be a quality midfielder in the haselby mould.
terrible run with knee, collarbone and hamstring injuries have robbed us of a great young player

that part is a major worry IMO - knee's and hammie's are a shocker

is he eligable for a rookie spot or a mature age rookie spot? he could be worth a club to take him there to see how his injuries hold up

sounds like another sad AFL career gone wrong - poor kid:(

yeah, not everyone shares my opinion but i thought he was robbed with injury but had the talent.

he is elligable for a rookie spot. thats what freo are intending on giving him, hopefully he gets back on track next year via rookie list with us, and maybe even elevated

If the club manage to re-list him (and I think they will) and he stays fit, then the odds are high he will be promoted if possible. He is a very skilled and would have been a quality player in our mix if he stayed/could get fit. I couldn't see him ever being a super-star, but quality contributor for sure. A better version of M.Carr kind is how I would describe him.

Why do losers like yourself constantly belittle people who spell a players name wrong?? Does it really matter, we all know who he means, but some one who wants to feel like a hero always points out the mistake. Most likely because you were the biggest nerd at school who was constantly picked on, had your lunch money stolen and had your jocks wedged up your ass. Get over it mate, no 1 cares.

benji, I think I speak on behalf of the Freo people here in saying:

GET STUFFED.

And put your team in your profile already.

If people are going to start threads on other clubs message boards the least they can do is spell the players name correctly.

We've had threads on Keplar Bradley, Farran Ray and Ryel Dunn in recent weeks.

Just because we are well educated, doesn't mean the bogans like you must force us not to correct spelling mistakes. If people didn't correct them, then the entire world would be full of people who can't spell. Next thing you know, you'll be rocking up to Subiakoe or Phooty Parc.

Back on topic, it looks like Ryley has attracted interest from Vic clubs already. If he gets picked up and ends up a decent midfielder we'll look a bit stupid.

I think Walker was a top ten pick, no disrespect to James he did his best for this club but you could hardly describe him as a match winner. Ryley was a top ten pick also and more than likely will be leaving the club. Two top ten picks there that you would have to say have been dissapointing.

What number is our first selection in the PSD?

It would be pointless picking him up again in the PSD, we might as well have kept him, as he'd be back on the main list anyway. Unless they went this way in response to perceived interest from other clubs.

I actually would just like to know what our first pick is in the PSD.
ie. What are the chances of picking up Collard for the Rookie list etc. Are players from the PSD eligible for Rookie listing?

As far as I know, we have pick six in the PSD and no, only players picked up in the rookie draft can be rookie listed.

by the way - it wasn't a spelling error - it was a typo more than anything - don't really proof read a lot the stuff i post on BF - as its not that important:o

Thanks Roundhouse. So when is the Rookie draft then, after the PSD involving whoever hasn't been picked up??
Bloody drafts everywhere!

Pick six. Reverse ladder order. We won't take him in the PSD though, because that would make de-listing him pointless.

His de-listing was the most surprising. We had little to lose by letting him play the final year of his contract. If he is still available at pick six in the rookie draft and we pick him up again we're going to have to promote him to the senior list in 12 months time if he has a good season anyway.
