I haven't seen any mention of this on your board but at the bottom of that article it says Adrian Fletcher is a new appointment for the Lions as an assistant coach in charge of the midfield.
Just thought i'd post it on here and let you all know considering he spent 3 seasons with us as MM's assistant, one season as a geelong assistant and 2 years as a development coach with us.
He should be a good pick-up for the Lions and help bolster the clubs coaching panel.

So what's happening with Craig Lambert?

So what's happening with Craig Lambert?
Lambert is such a vital part of our football department. When Shane Johnson departed, Lambert took over much of the player welfare stuff.
Hopefully he keep him around.
Fletch will only have been improved from his time in the west...

Can confirm Lamby was there yesterday taking the light duties group through their paces.
Piggy is an absolute classic, would love to have him back at the club on comedy value alone.

It would be great to see Fletcher back at the club, although hopefully Lambert still has a very active role!

He lost a bet. Although he has been allowed by TFB, who was the person who took the bet, to change back...maybe gooner is starting to like the dark side?! haha

When Lambert was over in the west after the B&F awards he caught up with Fletcher, before travelling down to Margaret River with Jonathon Brown for the week.
Lambert seems to be playing a great role looking after the younger players and has had Hawksley and now Chris Schmidt living with him.

Interesting that today's C-M suggested he was just interviewing for a job, not that it was a confirmed appointment.

I'd say two weeks ago, he wouldnt have even been thinking about a move up to QLD, so if he has been appointed already, its been a quick progress.

IIRC Chris Schmidt shared a house with Cameron Wood last year. So now he's staying with Lamby is he?

I know I ask you this all the time 4th_Tier... but have you got any Leuenberger feedback for us?
Still loving it in Brisbane?

Have we had any official announcements yet with Fletcher being on the coaching panel in 08, or is it still just rumors running through the papers?

Fletch lives at Lions
December 3, 2007 - 11:45AM
Former Brisbane Lions midfielder Adrian Fletcher has returned to the club as an assistant coach.
Fletcher has been at the club for a number of weeks but the Lions kept his appointment under wraps until this morning.
He played 231 AFL matches at four clubs and has four years coaching experience with Geelong and Collingwood.
He joins Leigh Matthews (senior coach), Justin Leppitsch (assistant coach), Paul Hudson (assistant coach), Craig Lambert (development coach), Chris Johnson (development coach) and Clark Keating (ruck coach) to round out the Lions 2008 coaching staff.
Fletcher played 23 matches with Geelong and 22 matches with St Kilda before moving to Brisbane in 1993 where he made a name for himself as a ball-winning midfielder.
He was runner-up in the Bears best and fairest in 1995 and finished in the top five in 1993, 1994 and 1996.
He played 107 matches in five seasons with the Bears/Lions before being traded to Fremantle at the end 1997 where he played a further 79 matches. Fletcher won the Dockers best and fairest in 1999 and was their captain from 2000 until he retired at the end of 2001.
He returned to Geelong for a season as an assistant coach in 2004 before taking on the role as Mick Malthouse's assistant at Collingwood from 2005 until 2007.

Well I was going to say he brings with him detailed knowledge of how to beat Collingwood, but I think we got that one covered already.

Unfortunately, our uber spy in the Collingwood ranks retired this year. Your club salutes your sacrifice, Bucks.
