View Full Version : Roo's 250...
Does anyone know when it is? Must be coming up soon!
I've always been looking for a definitive site with player stats, but can't find one.
That AFL Tables site is great, but it only has players stats from 1995 - present.
And the official team sites are pretty pathetic when it comes to player profiles.
If you want a good example of what an official player site should look like, go to nba.com and check out the player profiles... every stat known to man is on it.
If u read this then he's already done it.....

Roo's currently on 245 which means he does his 250 in round 17 when the eagles play collingwood at subi. Embers plays his 50 game next round followed by Chad Fletcher's 50 over here at Geelong. Siera is on 97 games and if he comes back next week will do his 100 against Essendon over there. You also have Mark Merenda as he is on 99 which means he plays his 100 against Adelaide. I keep a record of how many games the players have played so we know when they are due for their milestones. The Perth squad does the same and as they have most of the upcoming ones barring injuries they will be kept very busy. Kodie
Thanx Kodie....This is a bit bad though...our record for milestone games is horrible! I can remember Blueys 200th being an absolute shocker against the tigers...its not something we have a good record with!
No problem glad to help. Your right our record in milestone games is poor. Poor Bluey he play both his 200th & 250th against Richmond and we were well beaten both times. The last time was when Mark Merenda took that great mark over poor bluey it was a shocking night. Then again Richmond is our bogey team at the moment. We also lost when Kempy did his 200th at Waverley but I'll never forget they way the guys gave their all when Woosha did his 200th against Geelong. I think it's the last time we beat them down there, hopefully it'll be a different in a couple of weeks. I try and think positive and we are a better side this year so fingers crossed we win them all. Kodie

What can we try and persuade marketing to get done for the game? Maybe inflatable 'roos'?

Yeah!!!!!!!! Id buy a million of them!!!!! Then Id go find Pete and get them to sign some for me!
Who's 200th game did we win...
There is only :
Whoosha - loss if i recall
Kemp - dont know, loss maybe
Milli - cant remember
Jako - ditto
Lewis - pretty sure we won this one
Mainy - loss im pretty sure
Matera - cant remember
Anybody do better than my poor effort?
Woosha's we won, it was played at Geelong. Jako's was played up in Sydney when Paul Kelly did his as well we were thrashed.. Milli's was at Colonial last year against St Kilda our last Melbourne win. Kempy's we lost it was played at Waverley against Hawthorn, he did a speech and thanked one of his special fans. Lewie's was played at home against Freo and we won, Roo's we lost it was played at the G. As for the rest I'm not sure. I know the Melbourne based cheer squad has done probably 75% of the 200th game milestone banners. I'm not Mainy made it to 200 games if he did I remember one of his milestones being played in Perth and if it was his 200th and we won then that makes only three wins total, not a good record at all. We've got a pretty good record in 50th and 100th game Milestones but not 150th upwards. We lost Bluey's 250th he is the only one whose got that far, Roo's is next followed by Jako who is 12 games away . Depending on how far we go in the finals if we make them he could do his then. What needs to be remember is maybe we had injuries at the time or we were going through a bad patch. This is another season and if he does play it against Collingwood you would think we should win it. We should have won the game against them in round 2. We will have quite a few 100th game milestones in the next year or two as well as Banners 200th next year. Let's hope our record in all milestone games improve. Kodie

We won Woosha's 200th, at Kardinia Park. Absolutely excrementhouse weather, the metal signs on top of one of the stands were falling down in the high winds so they cleared the area behind the goals.

All correct. I can't remember the Peter Matera one and I think Mainy's was the Derby Loss to the Shockers in Perth by a point.
Woosha's was just the best day - remember it really well.

Those were the days. Damn you Air New Zealand for killing my football travels.
Yeah!!!!!!! I know exactly how you feel CarnEagles!
Can anyone remember one of woosha's last matches when we played the swans at the scg and woosha played an absolutely awesome game and he kicked a goal that sparked a win for us which saved us and got us into the finals..then He missed the 1st final which was the one against the bulldogs which we won...then cause we got screwed by the AFL we played against Carlton in Melb even if they lost their first final to the lions in Brisbane. I remember he was named but didnt play that match and they interviewd him b4 the match and he was sooooo mad at Mick for dropping him..he was speaking through clenched teeth! I knew that was the end for him and I cried all afternoon

I think you're right about Mainy's being a loss to the Dockers, but I thought it was the first loss back in 1999 which iirc we lost by about 40 points in pouring rain.

Don't remind me of that fateful day.
I skipped school on the Monday just so I could avoid the verbal barrage from all the Docker supporters that I had made fun of for so many years.
Mainy deserved better.

Certainly was. Kicked a goal from 50, post high at the St Mary's ground next door when we were playing before the game. Really impressed the kids.
Now, if I'd been kicking into the wind, probably would've gone about 5.......

If I remember rightly, I think that was the day that Mainy considered retirement.
