View Full Version : Fremantles first pic in draft
Mark Harvey has been claimed to say he is after tall mids with some pace i believe this could put myers mid/back in the right catagory at the 7th pic but palmer and masten from east freo look like the likley options in many mock drafts whats your thoughts?

I THINK its safe to say if either East Freo boy is around come pick #7 they will become a Docker.

Kepler would be a shoe-in for pick 7
if masten or palmer are not there at pic 7 then myers is a def i believe

Everyone assumes Masten Palmer or Ebert. Let's pretend for a second that they're not available. Who then?
Myers - yes he's a massive talent but do Freo need him?
Do they go tall? Grant? Rance (too early?)
Rioli?
Veszpremi?
Ward?
1. Kreuzer
2. Cotchin
3. Masten
4. Morton
5. McEvoy
6. Palmer
7. Myers
8. Ebert
the intresting one will be cotchen he will shape the draft on the day

I dont mind option Rioli at the moment, the more i think the more i like. He has family in WA which helps a lot IMO.
going on what harvey is after ebert doesnt seem the right option at 7

I can guarantee you that Freo will not pick Ebert. Questions about his pace and kicking under pressure plus he has OP. If anyone will slide in this years draft it will be him. Greenwood is a much better inside midfielder.

masten has OP aswell and their are still big raps on him

Palmer's can play as an inside midfielder.

not as well as Masten and Ebert tho, i see Ebert as a Kerr type of player:thumbsu:, Masten as a Mitchell and Palmer as a Griffen

Have you even seen Ebert play?? He's nothing like Kerr.

Yep - One of the worst comparisons I've seen...
More like a Ricciuto-type than Kerr. Even Ricciuto's not the best comparison though...

Masten

Myers
in that order. I'd expect one of them to be available

Isn't Myers very similar to David Mundy and Marcus Drum, in that he plays his best footy as the third tall defender attacking from half back? If so then he certainly doesn't fit our needs.
Rance>>>>Myers.

mj as well? i agree, got plenty of those. rance would be my prefered option if masten isnt there, even if palmer is available.

Worst comparisons ever...........
Ebert - Voss/Ricciuto
Palmer - Cousins
Masten - Murphy
Myers > Rance.
Myers is a quality kid who has everything you need to be elite at AFL level. Even his record on paper is so much better than Rance.
He ticks nearly all the boxes, including IMO the ones of contested ball winner, competitive etc that are not definites with guys like Mundy and Drum that Dom compared him to. I would think that he and Palmer would rate similarily in terms of the ability to win contested posssessions.
The only question mark over Myers is his ability to play midfield fulltime. And even that fear is relaxed somewhat by the fact that he has played as a centreman / wingman at Colts level for Perth all year.

Rance definitely isn't a better prospect that Myers, but probably more suited to your needs. But personally I'd take best available because who wants to miss out on a gun?
if we go for inside mid then masten looks the go ebert i would be disapointed if we take him local talent all the way is my opinion w.a dominated the carnival and ebert wasnt a standout

what he said ^^^ :D
myers wouldn't be my first choice but with palmer and masten gone we will take him IMO
and yes, unlike mundy and drum, myers has actually demonstrated that he can play midfield
Palmer's can play as an inside midfielder.
Palmer is not really an inside mid. Who fed him the ball at the carnival? Masten, rich, etc

They were playing each player to the best of their abilities. Palmer's is receiving and attacking. He can still get his own ball.
