With a three-game winning streak, and the last pair of those wins coming in dramatic fashion, I was wondering if the split round was a matter of bad timing for Geelong...

Quite simply, have they earned the break in the fixture list, or will they be victims of circumstance when they play Richmond at the MCG on Saturday the 29th?

Personally, it's going to be a test of both the young squad and of Thompson's coaching abilities to keep the team focused over the course of a fortnight rather than just a single week.

I also think that this debate may be moot next season, if the 24-game fixture list comes into affect as well...

Your thoughts/opinions?

Cheers,
William

I was actually thinking the sma thing myself, with the 3 great wins ( or as it has been portrayed by sections of the media the teams that were beaten were unlucky or had an off day).

I believe the win against Richmond will define how we finish the season. Maybe those tigers will start to tremble if there is a young fella wearing no29 that might just continue the family tradition of not doing nice things to the tiger.

I think its good timing. It will allow the young players to freshen up for the 2nd half of the year & it allows plays who have niggling injuries [i.e Lings ankle] to rest.

I would have to agree with JubJub here. Our players have a chance to freshen up and get over injuries they may be carrying, and gear up for a big 2nd half to the season.

Go Cats!!

Good timing considering we usualy get to a 3 game winning streak then lose, the extra week might work in our favour.
