Other than the two trips to Subi late in the season, I think it's a cracking draw. Very happy, and lots of games of free to air which is a bonus.

i don't mind most of the games and who we play, i juist think its stupid that we play the dogs in such a short perios of time, and then with all the a.f.l teams how carlton and hawks don't play each other to round 22, the point of playing each other once, was to make it fair and make it easy for the teams to evaluate how their performing, and their strenghts and weekness against a team, and how they could improve the chances and make the games a lot more enjoyable

I think we can finish top 3 with a record of 15-7, then we will get past the 1st round & prelim to win the granny with Robert Harvey Norm Smith Medalist:D!

Seriously though I think we can atleast 13-16.

a few issues will determine how we go.

1. how many of our best 18/19 will we be able to field.
2. how close to their best will the coach be able to extract from them.
3. what sort of contribution can we expect from fringe players like birss, dempster, etc

I again point to geelong 06 who were a rabble (and we beat convincingly by 5 goals) to the all conquering winners in 07. its hte same guys.

if lyon can extract that sort of discipline, committment and confidence = premiership. (given issue 1)

if he can't then its another era drifting by.

I'm very happy with 16 FTA matches for 2008. If we cannot secure any top quality sponsors with that much FTA exposure, we probably never will.

I thought the AFL would schedule the saints at TS again for the swans away match. Surprised Essendon has been given the nod. If they were a top 8 side, then yes, they would always be a better drawing card than the saints. Not too sure about that though. Otherwise the saints would prefer playing at the SCG than TS (I would imagine)

Otherwise, i'm very happy with the draw. Yeah, two perth trips isn't easy, but otherwise it's mostly fair.

i was hoping for a game at ANZ against the swans like last year, 63,000.

Awesome first 10 weeks.

Must win 7 or at the very least 6 of them IMO.

Also, hopefully, a much improved interstate record this year?

We should start well given our pre season form and the fact we hit the training track a lot earlier than in years previous. A big key for me will be putting sides away. Winning by 6 or 7 goals instead of 2 or 3.

Yep definitely, and by the same token making sure we win 4 quarters not be ahead for 3 and get run over in the last.

The draw looks pretty good for us, I'd say a good start is important considering how many of our early games we have at home.

Yep, while percentage didn't end up being a big factor last year, at one stage we were going to miss out on top 8 because of it.

Winning games by 60 and 70 points are so important.

Looks like a good draw...aslong as we can win half our interstate matches, with out dominance at the dome we should be cruising for top 4.

Sweet, I'll be there :)

It's a decent draw, we do need to really pummel a few teams by 50+ this year, hopefully starting with Carlton this week.

Well thats 2 wins.

Got Western Bulldogs, Geelong, Essendon, Port and Richmond.

Winning 3 of these would be nice.

A great first half of the season, plenty of games in Melbourne meaning a good start to the season will be neccesary to have a successful year. a few trips to subi late in the season isnt preferable but we finish off in melbourne ready for the finals. i think if we have a strong start, and make sure we dont lose winnable games in Melbourne, we set ourselves up for a really good season. The fixture is pretty good,i think the saints will be happy with it. Round.4 St. Kilda vs. Geelong potentially game of the year, get your tickets early!
