Will there be any training with us in the start of the pre-season? Former Rookies ect.?

Both delisted rookies Gibson and Collins will be training.

Will see if Little and or Thurgood are at training on MOnday.

Usually have a contingent of Box Hill players as well.

If the rumours are true, there's a certain Richmond player who has been told that he is certain to be picked up by Hawthorn in the PSD if he doesn't re-sign or train with any AFL club (to keep him 'hidden').

Why be secret, it's common knowledge you're talking about Danny Meyer.

It's not Danny Meyer.

why be secret about it? do tell......

if you have heard a rumour, then there is probably no doubt that richmond and most other clubs would know about it anyway.

right now the hawks won't have a pick in the psd anyway.

There is a certain Hawk Talk forum that would be perfect for this thread. Maybe an undisclosed name in the thread title so it doesnt be displayed in the forum main view also.

if it is a rumour - what does it matter if you perpetuate it? that's what bigfooty is for.

rumour or fact as far as i can work out it doesn't really matter, the supposed player would have to nominate for a draft and every club will know about all the players that nominate, particularly if the player had already been on an afl teams list......i don't see the point in keeping it a secret.

I don't, and most hawks supporters don't need to know, if they've got a genuine prospect on their hands. So if they keep it hushed, it's fine by me, provided it's a decent player.

The thing I can't get my head around, is that clubs are supposed to pay 92.5%, which has been highlighted by the roos only paying around 90%, which is part of the reason the AFL are getting into them.

So how are we paying 92.5% considering that snr, and higher paid players Smith, Vandenberg and Dixon have retired, and that one of our gun players, Buddy is only on a relatively low salary, and Crawford is a veteran?
Do the maths: the tpp is 7mil.
Carlton have 1 player earning 1mil, and they're still well under.

It just appears to me that we've a massive gap, that this player could fill the void.

I'm completely open to someone explaining how we're meeting the 92.5%.
I know Pelchin has a rep of being good, but not magically creating something out of nothing.

OK, you're right, I might as well discuss it.

I heard rumours that Hawthorn are looking at recruiting a Richmond bloke named Peterson (perhaps in the Rookie draft)?

Anyway, it's just rumours.

If these rumours are true & we manage to nab him, his type would defiantly slot right into our side. Although reading on the tigers boards soon after he was delisted this was posted!!!

Another problem is that just after the season finished his arm went through a window at a night club. Although it didn't break his arm, it caused serious nerve damage, and he may not be able to play footy again.

Nonetheless, I think we will pick him up in the rookie draft

peterson is extremly talented, so for him to be delisted after one year he must of done something wrong

Carl has already been delisted but is still training at the club. Just after his last game of the year he got into a fight at a nightclub and got pushed through a window where he cut his arm and lost feeling in his hand. I am not sure how his hand is now but he still has on going OP problems. We have told Carl we will rookie him again if he keeps training with us.

Peterson had a good day in a Coburg/Box Hill game this year. Got plenty of the footy, was lively around the packs and nice skills.

Worth a look, providing his injuries, and other off-field matters, aren't too serious.

We better rookie him because what I saw of him this season he is something very special.

I just hope it isn't a career ending injury, his attitude will change the longer he hangs around JON (who is the supreme professional).

Knowing Miller, Meyers probably just sitting on a 400,000 per year deal if he actually did sign.

Muat have been the coburg V box hill seconds as i dont think he cracked it for a game in the ones.

Yep he did Peejay. Played 2, maybe three games. I certainly know he played one because I watched him at York Park.

If a bloke can't cut it at Richmond, is he really worth considering?
