Heard a rumor that Pavs manager has been in contact with nissy.
Has anyone one else heard of anything like this ??
Could the eagles be looking at the slightly heavy one ??

Aw geez, that'd be worth it just to read the reaction on Dockerland.

From what I hear we'd have to let a preety big name player go to get him..is he worth it?...have never really taken much notice of him so I dont know.

Definately a rumour, but in saying that, I would give up first draft pick for him. He will be an awesome player - the chances of getting a first round pick as good as him are slim. We also need key back men who's development will coincide with Judd and Kerr.

Plays like Jakovich, looks like Jakovich, sounds like Jakovich. Could be the new Jakovich.

Definitely worth it in terms of getting a decent young key position player, but if the rumors are true of the amounts of money he is asking for, then id say we're better off developing our own youngsters. Id take him at the club in a second but I think his market value at the moment is highly inflated.

Noone will ever be like Jako..he is irreplacable. Someone may come along that covers that position (CHB) but they will never be Jako..they will be them! Jako can never be copied! He is an original!

The extra cash would be worth it just for the pleasure of reading the reactions of the dockerland freaks. Would be sweet indeed.

I agree. I reckon he has even used Jak as a role model. Has anyone noticed how Jak, when he has taken possession after a mark and is wieghing up his options upfield, how he puts his hand up infront of his chest to signal he does not intend to honour someones lead. Well watch Pav, he does the same thing. Its a little idiosyncracy hes picked up from the great one.
Its a bit of the master and apprentice thingy going on.

Sorry, im just blabbering now. I'll stop now.

i've been watching the Dockers lately and i noticed that too, it's odd, a bit like that "Single White Female" movie, one day he's gonna stab milli to death with a high heel:D

seriously, Pav's a good player, when the whole auction thingo started i thought "if nissy doesnt at least THINK about an offer he's nuts". Pav would at least be a solid and consistant player. Plus he'd make a great bouncey castle for Woosha's kids birthdays:)

Pavlich's asking price is too much...plus we would have to give up one of our better players to acquire his services. But im sure the Eagles are poking around, checking it out. I doubt he'll end up playing for us though and if he did, then would we just get the same "I wanna go home" problems...

I would think the Eagles would be more worried about keeping Judd next year. By signing Pavlich this year we would have no room to move to offer Judd what he would get in Melbourne when his contract is up.

Im still worried about losing Judd, and if you look at how much Pavlich is getting offered on potential then im sure Judd would be able to command a fairly large increase on his payrate just on his potential alone.

Why would Pav bother moving to WC? In terms of development, WC and Freo are at about the same level, would offer about the same amount of money and are in the same state. He doesn't have any reason to move across. Hey, I'd love to see him come across (I think the other 14 clubs in the comp would as well), but realistically, unless he secretely barracks for WC (and why wouldn't he ;) ) there's absolutely no reason. Plus that manager of his is a deadset ****er and would say anything to enhance his reputation. Hope he isn't the manager of Judd.

I don't think anyone realistically believes we've got a big chance of getting pav- it just comes under the 'gee, wouldn't it be nice..' category.

As for Judd- with the veterans list, we probably have a little more financial leeway than a lot of clubs. Which is good, because we're going to need it. For Judd, it ain't really a difficult equation- offer him whatever he wants to stay- money, future leadership roles, woosha's wife, whatever it takes.
On one hand, you don't want the Package getting a swelled head, but on the other, let's face it, Judd is a very very classy proposition, and the hottest first year property in the league. Whatever it takes to sign him is worth it.

Incidentally, some other peoplee I'd like to see us lock down in contracts- Dean Cox, who must be making some other club recruiters take notice, could find himself the target of some lucrative offers if we don't sign him up. Also, the Lynchinator- probably won't be that sought after, but if he fulfils his potential in the latter half of this season, he is the young key position player that we lack.

Yep thats what I thought too. Maybe that also has something to do with his improved performance on field too, no stupid negotiations to worry about and a future set in place. All he's got to do is go out and play good footy.

Yep, youre right about the Cox thing, he was signed up for 2-3 years a little while back. Then he got dropped in the next round ;)

Regarding Judd, we have to be careful we dont offer him too much just to compete with the Melbourne clubs, i hope his manager doesnt make it an auction like Pavlich's manager seems to be doing
