View Full Version : Who would North fans rather merge with...
I know you all want to stay put and will fight until the death... but if a merger was preferred to a move, who would you prefer to merge with.
This is obviously hypothetical so please don't take offence
Bulldogs?
Western Kangaroos has a nice ring to it. Similar colours and culture and a great training venue.
Demons?
Melbourne Kangaroos - clash of cultures but a predominantly blue jumper would work. Would need to fix up Arden St as Demons are also homeless
Blues?
Carlton Kangaroos would be more like a take over. I can hear the club song... 'We are the Kangaroos, we are the old...'
I can't thing of any other potential suitors who would be interested over the next few years.

If we had to merge then i would prefer it to be with the Bulldogs.
A merger would be the end for me.

carlton would never merge
Carlton have floated the Idea of a Kangaroos merger in the past
Carlton tried to merge with Kangaroos both in 1982 and 1999

Likewise. I'd get a Brumbies membership instead, or spend more time following the cricket in the southern hemisphere off-season.

I really can't understand that. I don't think any other Winter sport comes close to Aussie Rules. If Carlton never existed, I'm sure I would've still grown up following AFL.

But what if Carlton was kicked out of the comp (hypothetically)? Would you still have the same passion for Aussie rules?

For the sport I would. If Carlton were treated with malice though, then I wouldn't feel the same way about the AFL. I'm not gonna pack up and start following wogball mind you.

I grew up following a game called Aussie Rules and a team called North Melbourne.
