Neighbours has sucked for years.
Harold is a poor mans Alf Stewart. Good riddance I say. Lou has been dragging that hack around for years now

And whilst they are still getting the $$$ in from over there, as well as the ratings, then it will continue to go on.

Channel 5 pays £100,000 per episode for the rights to Neighbours. 244 episodes a year * £100,000 = £24,400,000 a year just from the UK!

Lets not dwell on the bad news - lets focus on the good news, this gives us an opportunity to speculate on how he will leave the show.
My pick is for it to be revealed that Harold and Lou have been having an affair since he washed up on the shore and Harold dies of AIDS, with the occasional appearance in hallucinatory form as people's conscience when they are having a moral dilemma.

Yeah, i think there was a long term contract signed recently between ch 10 and an English station, 7 years or something, so wont be off our screens for a while yet.
I think for the last 10 or so years Neighbours has pretty much only been on our screens because of the need to produce it for an English audience.

C5 picked the show up from the BBC, i think ratings will go down as it's a lesser channel to the BBC. Channel 5 vastly overpaid tbh, they got H&A after ITV dropped it and it's not been the same since
