More info on Stuart Cochrane

A former All-Australian junior from SA club Central District, Cochrane developed into a more than handy utility in 2001. Although he played 17 games for the Roos in 2002, much of his time was spent on the bench in the latter part of the season. He did however undertake some significant tagging jobs on players such as Riccardi, Anthony Rocca and Nick Stevens. The latter probably impressed Port Adelaide officials who secured him by a trade.

He became a regular in the Port line up in 2003 and late in the year did some noteworthy tagging jobs. In 2004 he played 19 of the 22 home and away games, but many of these were predominantly on the bench. He lost his place for the finals and missed out on a premiership.

He added another 13 games in 2005 before being delisted.

Cochrane retired from SANFL football shortly after and took up an off-field role at Port. He was recently appointed Player Welfare & Development Officer (http://portadelaidefc.com.au/tabid/6038/News/NewsArticle/Default.aspx?newsId=55392), the role vacated by David Hutton.
