From Port Adelaide in the SANFL, Fiegert was a home grown boy who played mainly in defence, and had a handful of games in each of his three AFL seasons. He came through the SANFL ranks as a defender with Port Adelaide but didn't have the height to play in a key position at AFL level. He did have one memorable afternoon as a forward booting three goals against the Bulldogs in a 1997 game where Port came from behind.
