A strong youngster who started off like a rocket in 1997, but faded later in the year. Some areas of his game still needed refinement but the former Geelong Falcons player was seen as a "good get" at the 1996 draft.
Bowen showed his aptitude at centre half forward, despite being unable to win regular selection with the Power, partly because of a back complaint.
Lockwood brought up 50 games for Port in 2001, but retired from AFL at the end of the season. Away from the footy field he was a top rower.
