It had everything.

Fight backs......50 metre penalties.....reverse decisions......balls hitting the post (I lost count).....screemers......putting the body on the line.

Two moments that stopped the Roos......Copelands tackle on the siren of the 3rd quarter and Keating one where he put his body on the line and stopped the Roos forwards from taking it out of the centre.

I have said this before Lynch and Bradshaw work well together.

Bradshaw is a gentleman on the ground. I have never seen him talk back to the Umpire or dispute a decision. I have never seen him even pull a face. He is a placid worker who just goes about doing his job. Bradshaw has grown in his position, he follows up and was on the end of some vital goals last night. I have a lot of respect for Bradshaw.

Shattock deserves a Rising Star nomination for his display last night. What a game from him. He showed up some of the seniors last night.

As for the bench 4th quarter bench.....Brown, Keating, Pike and Michael. Scary thought that those boys sat on the bench pretty much of the last quarter and we won.

The young boys had a great game and Bolton is also growing confidence.

The game was fast and furious and it had everything. We won the game without some serious personel.... Voss, Lappin, McDonald and Notting.

The endless fight backs will stand them in good stead for the games ahead.

The boys all deserve to walk away from the game with their heads held high and I noticed Leigh was a very happy man.

Best:-

Akermanis

Shattock

Power/Scotts/Headland/Bradshaw

A great game.

Great game.
The thing I loved the most was that tackle by Bushy in 3/4 time.saved a sure North goal. The other players loved it too, all over him they were. The crowd around us exploded , thats what you come to the footy for.Hard men.Absoltuley marvellous.

Shattock was brilliant.keating a passenger.Rocca towled Michael.
Charman was great,Leppa as well.

Still a few passengers.
Bring on Carlton, lets get top spot back.

Tony Shaw has just come out and said 'it was the best game he has seen in 15 years'.

It was a great game.

Couldn't agree more, it was a great game of footy. However, it did highlight some passengers and I think this was picked up by Leigh. Mal Michael getting splinters!! He needs to do more than stand down the back and thump away the ball no matter how spectacular some of those thumps may be. Keating needs to be concerned as Jamie Charman and Beau McDonald would be a great combination.

Shattock (Possum's Twin!!! - has anyone else noticed this spooky doppelganger?!!) was outstanding, Bushy was great, Luke Power had a blinder and Dessy - what can one say! I have never been a fan of Dessy's but this year my opinion is changing rapidly.

It was good to have a tough fought out game at home that at times could have gone either way. Just goes to prove that we are a tight unit and even without Vossy we aren't toothless!

Given the opportunity for some of the younger ones to step in during injury breaks they are stepping up to the plate and playing their hearts out. I wouldn't like to be on the selections committee in coming weeks!!

We have a great list in both our seniors and the ressies and the fact that the younger ones can step up and slot right in and look like they have always been part of the set up and play as part of the team shows what great things we have to come.

Go Lions! And p.s. Remember Pikey for PM!!

Best part about the game was the fact that when North hit the front in the third term, that was when we usually relied on Vossy to steady the ship. This game however it seemed like everyone wanted to put there hand up!

Will be an interesting time at selection again this week with Notting, McDonald and Ash McGrath all putting up their hands for selection. I think Bolton will definitely make way for Notting, but not sure if the other two will get a game.
