Plugger gone, Eade gone, Schwatta went last week......
On behalf of the Geelong Football Club,I'd like to thank Rodney Eade for waiting that extra week to quit.
I pity the poor Dockers this week.
All that money from the AFL and the club still can't run itself properly what is happening in Sydney or is it better not to know?
What money would that be? Our debt to the AFL was paid off in full years ago.
We're hardly the first club to have a coach resign / be sacked mid-season in recent years.

Seems pretty obvious what is going on.
The older players on the list have realised that this year is not going anywhere as they had hoped, and some of them (with more to come one suspects) have decided enough is enough.
Likewise, the Club believed that the tenure of Eade was no longer viable, although they were prepared to see it through until the end of the year.
In the meantime, Eade has found out "officially" that he won't be considered fro next year, and decides to pull the pin now rather than stumble through to the end of the year.
So what the hell is the problem? I don't see one. The powers that be have finally realised their list is not as strong as they thought, is a little too old, and the current coach is not the one tio take them into the future with a revamped list. Seems like normal footy Club practice to me.
The only thing causing a problem is that they hadn't allowed for Eade not to finsh his contract.

good call Roowatch ...
Sure, its been a little messy and with the benefit of hindsight perhaps Rocket should have gone to Freo last year and spared us all this mid season kerfuffle but you are absolutely spot on ...
This ain't no crisis, its just something that unforunately happens to most clubs every few years or so ...
cheers
