The Carlton game is a perfect opportunity for Brisbane to play all three rucks and give Brown a break.
The latest odds are Lions $1.06 for a win and the Blues are at $7.00.
Brown needs a break as his form is crap at the moment and I'd love to see McDonald, Keating and Charman all in. If they all had a go in the ruck the Carlton blokes will go crazy!!:D
I say leave "The Guvna" in the side this week, and give him a chance to run himself into some form in the seniors.

There is no way known we will go in overly tall ever again while Leigh is coach. It is this strategy that really cost us at Princess Park last year and so it will only be two ruckmen and Brown will stay in the team. With Carlton's defence being undersized you would expect Livingston to get first crack at Lynch, Beaumont on Bradshaw and Brown will be the real mismatch.
What we need though is a ruckman to start dominating around the ground, taking some contested marks etc.. At this stage Keating is our best bet for this, and Charman is showing some promise. By all reports Beau didn't do enough of this in the magoos last week, so it will be status quo on the big man front.

Our bench on Saturday night in the 2nd half.....
Mal Michael - 189cm
Martin Pike - 190cm
John Brown - 194cm
Clarke Keating - 198cm
That is some pretty tall boys warming the bench in the last quarter. I know it was because Roos and smallish and fast but 'WOW' what a bench!!
I wouldn't like Leigh's position on who to chose, but what a great position to be in.

I am looking forward to the game against the blues. Even when we won the GF there were Blues supporters that said the lions can't be considered the best team because they didn't beat the Blues in 2001. It's not our fault the draw doesn't allow home and away. I would like to think the Lions can inflict a drubbing on the Blues to make up for our insipid display last year at PP.
Putting them one game closer to the spoon would also be a great feeling!
Cheers,
Mark

I think Livingston on Lynch is a big mismatch. Livo just ain't strong enough for Lynch....but then again who is? I'd probably put Beaumont on Lynch, then put Livo on Bradshaw and Thornton on Brown. I can hear you thinking: "Livingston? Thornton? Who the hell are they?":p

Is Beaumont a lot stronger than Livingston? I guess whichever way you look at it, the three Lions forwards have a decided height, strength and class advantage over the Blues players. I have seen a bit of Livingston and Thornton and they will both be good players in 2-3 years time, however it is a huge ask up at the Gabba. Personally I will be disappointed if we don't absolutely smash Carlton, as they are really struggling and we have some pride to redeem after the Princes Park debacle of 2001.

I hope the boys are fired up and thump them.
We need to get some percentage back to try and take top spot off Port.
Let's hope the Bulldogs can take it to them.
