One of my favourite players for the Eagles, Hurn should have a good season ahead of him. We all know about that powerful right boot of his, and how effective he is from the bombs 60 out, but I expect to see a larger midfield role for Shannon in his third season.
From South Australia so there is no reason why he would want to go home now he's experienced WA life :). This is the point of this board, yes? To talk up players, and keep an eye on them. Not just for the people sponsoring them.

Hopefully be a big part of the midfield in 2008, strong through the hips so should be good at winning clearances.

I'm hoping he can make the transition from flanker to midfielder, and eventually becoming one of our elite players. Seems to have that x-factor that has all us just waiting to see it. Hopefully has his breakout game this year.
Along with Butler, he's the player I'm most looking forward to seeing in 2008.

Very special talent. Really looking forward to seeing him develop further in the coming years. Has the potential to be in the elite catgeory in the AFL, if he can make the transition successfully to the midfield.

I feel 2008 will be the year if the Hurn.
A consistent threat for goals from 60+ meters, very strong body and a cool alm head on his shoulders.
As D4E said Im waiting (moreso hoping) 2008 is his breakout year. :thumbsu:

Stats aren't all that impressive, but did some big jobs for us at a very young age and impressed me every time. In particular the game he played on Shannon Grant, nearly completely shutting him down but conceding 1 or 2 late goals when the game was really already won.
Good work ethic, seems to be captain material, woosha loves him and
will play every game in 2008 if stays fit. Personally i would like to see him trim down a bit, lose a little of the bulk and run a lot more with the ball, take people on and take risks. not to mention utilise the booot. :D
I don't think his strength is midfield, although clearly capable of playing there. Would prefer to see him play in the backline (after all he was under 18 all australian backpocket a few years back)
Love the kid and only good things are to come from him, certainly haven't heard anything about him being homesick, in fact quite the opposite I've heard he loves it here. :thumbsu:

Is one of those players that you can feel the excitement and anticipation in the crowd when the ball is in his hands, particularly when he is forward of centre and on the run.
Have a shot Hurny.:thumbsu:
