Just trying to say that sure it could of been posted on the main thread. to create a thread on the topic is a bit silly. Otherwise i'm happy to hear from all camps!

Very funny
Yes, Yes...very clever. Do we have to turn every thread into a boring, slag each other thread like the Altona Vikings one?
Anyway, the winner is former Seddon Player Rod McClusky.

Must know him well to know he is a good bloke. He actually likes to be called by his name Rob rather than Rod.

Never said i knew him really well, just said good bloke, from what i heard. The original post stated his name as Rod so i thought i may have originally gotten his name wrong which is why i then refered to him as Rod.

Yarraville have always been second rate since Frosty left. From last year's performance, couldn't see them doing much this year. They do however try very hard and have some good younger players.

Agreed. Yarraville have lost some key players over the last couple of years that would be extremely helpful at this stage. This was a result of both poor on field performance and off field management. Particularly off field management. However things down at yarraville are looking like they are progressing, and the off field operations are certainly making big improvements compared to season 07. A lot happening down there.

What young ones do Yarriville have didn't they struggle to field an 18's last season and had to grab extra palyers from Spotty's left overs?
Lets put things into perspective. Yarraville were struggling before the merger now the people who are running the club are either from the admin who struggled to run Yarraville or Admin people who saw a club fold in Seddon. It could never really be called a serious merger!
Look forward to seeing what happens in 2008?????

I think you'll find that was the problem with season 07, but it is very different from 08. A case of out with the old, in with the new. So next time check your perspective before you comment on it.

Your right Da Vinci both clubs battled to stay alive and thats why they merged to become a stronger club. This will take time and what people have to remember is that the committee was only formed in March 10th this year a month out from the first game so I reckon the club did extremely well to survive in A Grade. Now its time to build and focus on junior development. The junior structure of the club is very strong with at least 10 players from the 16's & 18 's that will make a real impact at the club over the next couple of years. The Eagles are still a couple of years away from matching it with the better sides and yes some players will leave but the club' focus will be on building it's profile and putting its energy into being positive
The Eagles I believe have just installed a new gymnasium at the club which can be a great attraction to any player wishing to go there.
As they say all good business's are strong at the top and I think some significant changes have already been made
Good luck to the club in 2008
