Argued to be one of the most important members of the current WCE squad, CHF Hansen has had a terrible run with injuries, particularly in 2007. A mobile big man who 'straightens up' the midfield ball use by leading hard up the ground, Hansens strength is in his ability to mark on the lead. His pace for a man just shy of 200cm is deciptively quick: perhaps demonstrated best by his 2 goal first quarter effort in the 2006 grand final against Sydney. Although he only played 13 matches in 2007, the Eagles have a very good winning record when he plays. Look for the man from Northvale/Oakleigh U18 to hopefully string together some games in 2008 and lets hope his body will allow him to show the talent he has.

If Ash Hansen can play 22 full games it would be a MASSIVE boost to our forward structure.
Also helps when taking the ball out of defence as he is probably the best eagle at leading at the man with the ball.

Despite missing so many games, I thought he made some good progress this year, in particular his goalkicking and contested marking. Hopefully we get to see that on a more frequent basis next season. Won the best clubman award too.

Brilliant Grand Final last year. I always thought he disappeared after quarter time but after watching it again recently he played well in the last quarter as well.
He needs to stay fit, and learn how to play out the full 4 quarters. Our most important player.

We (I) forget that he's only played just over 50 games.
He still has room for improvement as a key forward.
Now for those injuries.....
Build him a house from cotton wool already.
