Canterbury and black rock, been belting the shit out of each other for years. Murumbeena and lyndale the beena never won at lyndale. Springy and dingley may have started something this year as well.

There is always plenty of fire, and anger and close finishes when Skye play Mt Waverly!!

Played them 4 times with only 1 of the results being decided by more than a kick!!

Skye Sandown, and Skye Dandy are good games also

We don't win at Murrumbeena all that often ourselves, it has to be the jumpers.
Hard to have great rivalries when the club is struggling but 3-4 years ago Lyndale had some great games against Highett and the Districts.

Many years ago, back in the Federal League and YCW days, (now that's giving away my age) Clayton and Springvale were fierce rivals. As they're both in Division one this year those rivalries will be rembered by the old timers from both clubs when they meet again in 2008.

The East Brighton/StPauls rivalry of the late 90's was as fierce as the first few minutes of a granny.
The first quarter one game at StPauls went for around 40 minutes with both sides giving as good as they got.
These days most of the players chat after a game and get on O.K. off the field so things have changed.

Am being told Heatherton v Dingley will be huge this year so we will have to see.

If the mail around is correct after many years these two clubs will be facing off in the season opener under lights at Newcomen Road

St Pauls vs Bentleigh (before they joined the Ammos) was as fierce & brutal as any local rivalry. On more than one occassion there were all in brawls including crowds as well as a continuation of the battle in the car park of the Boundary Hotel on a Sunday.....ah the good old days

The Noble Park V East Brighton clashes in the early to mid ninetys was probably the best rivalry in the last 20 years. Both sides were chock full of gun players with Noble the edge in class but East the edge in toughness. I think Noble only lost 3 games in 3 years but 2 of those were in Grand Finals to East. There was also the punch on between Rick "The Rock" Norman and Brendan Stuart in the Noble Park change rooms after the game where the East players were running out of their showers in the nude to join in what had become a large brawl. Noble used to open a concertina door between both sides change rooms but this was stopped after this. Ah the good old days.

Not quite a rival thing but on a similar topic.

I dont if anyone remebers the trip out to Collingwood Districts.

Firstly a few would miss the bus with a Collingwood flu.
and then a long way home nursing a few sore heads.

his brother is coaching sandown next year.
i did see them play against caulfield in the early nineties in a grand final and there were about five hundred spectaters punching on the ground at 3/4 time.the collingwood full back knocked out the full forward who had kicked nine just before the siren.(sheedys nephew if my memory seves me correctly).

Dandy And Doveton for so many years. Always been good games played in the right spirit of the game. Speaking from experience in the magoos, played each other many times in finals over the past 5 years or so.

Dandy and Skye is another one. New contest between each other.

Yeah I must admit, out of all the Games, Sky V's Dandy are the ones I hang for!!

There is just something about Dandy that gets me pumped, had some great duals including the game in 2006 when we ended there finals hope at there home ground, Robbie Mackwell was talking trash all day and we had the last laugh!!

He is a great bloke the robbie, humble in defeat, unfortunately i didnt get to play against them last year, I am looking forward to playing against D.Black, clearly the best footballer I have seen in div 3 since Fia Tooto or Mimo Dimachki.

I've played a bit of footy with "Racka" (about five years) and he is an interesting unit. Always turned up to preseason saying he being doing nothing other than smoking, and still was one of the fittest. I would have hated to play on him cause he was an annoying bugger. Funny bloke though.
