Fair enough he had the courage to go on the show, but what an absolute embarrasment. Tried to be funny but pretty painful to watch.

So Rove is still like the Rove of 5-10 years ago then. Tries to be funny but simply isn't.

I actually didn't think he was 'that' bad....
Imagine Howard being on there..

What could he do? He had to keep it restrained because if he joked too much the Liberal party would turn into a smear ad. I think he handled it all in good humor and went along with the spirit of it. The whole Kel Knight thing was actually funny. You can't be all things to all people.

I didn't think he was that bad - he was better than Rove.
It won't make a difference as to the outcome - no one will watch that and think "yeah, I am voting Rudd"

Does Kev actually go on proper news/current affairs shows like insiders where they actually ask him real questions on policy etc or just leave that to Gillard?

you'd be surprised. It's as good a reason to vote for either of them as anything I've seen so far
How funny was it when rove said something about telling garret to shut up, and rudd goes something like 'nah peters great, you know whats great about peter is that, unlike his opposite number, he actually believes in global warming and the need to do something about it.' And everyone just goes silent for a bit while kevin chuckles to himself like he was making a joke when he was actually going off on some political rant.

He wasn't Rove's most interesting guest ever, but he did a pretty good job IMO
was a little bit cringey, but thought he handled himself as well as he could really. only part that i felt embarrassed was when he said he would turn gay for his wife... awkward :o
Rudd was more interesting than Seinfeld. Jason Donovan stole Rudds answers to the questions bit and was lauded for it.

And then Rove said "You're wife's a man?". Pretty weak on Kevin's part, he knew the question would be asked and he handled it like a typical politician - he spent like two minutes talking shit and avoiding the question. He should have been more prepared for what was the key question to appeal to the idiots/teenyboppers that watch Rove. ;)
I saw him on David & Kim though, and he was less cringeworthy.

Would have been good comedy if he had said 'John Howard' to who would you turn gay for. Talk about ammo for a smear campaign though.. :D

I'm sure Latham would have said something like that - he was a real loose cannon (although he was fairly subdued prior to the election, just when he lost he went mad).

I thought Rudd sucked big time on Rove but he'll still get my vote. I hate Liberals with a passion.

Only a stupid person would use the fact that Rudd appeared on Rove as their reason to vote against him. But unfortunately you'd be suprised at some of the idiots that do vote.

Well we do have many Millions of voters, at least one of them would be swayed either way by it, I would assume anyway.
Personally I think it was great that Rudd at least tried to be funny on Rove and also at least he went on the show knowing that any of it could be used against him, old Johnny Boy didn't want to look a bit stupid, to me it shows Rudd is at least a normal Aussie Bloke, prepared to have a laugh at his own expence.
If I hadn't made up my mind already on who to vote then Rudd going on Rove would have certainly gained some points in my book anyway.
Well we do have 21 Million voters
really?
