For some reason I was thinking it would be a good idea for us to get together in December to have a few Beers and have a kind of pissed meeting session. :thumbsu:

BBQ, Beer and Bowls? Maybe just get together for a meal at a Pub?? :D

Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds tops.

Quite a few of us go to the soccer, maybe a chance to warm up the vocal chords later on probably towards the start of the season...

Yeah can't not go to this :thumbsu:
Friday 28 December 2007
Adelaide United FC vs Sydney FC
7.30 PM - Adelaide Oval

Still would love to go to a pub for a Snitz and Pale and catch up with everyone before this one.

How about we all catch up on Friday 14 December 2007 for a Snitz and beers around 6.00pm then if you like then head to the Adelaide United FC vs Central Coast Mariners FC after at 7.30 PM :thumbsu:

Just to keep everybody informed, the vocal boys assmeble at their pre-match pub - The Land of Promise. Drink specials and cheap meals ($7 Beef snittys) with female entertainment for those who wish it - but most of the boys are out the back making some noise.

irc, Consession costs $17 and Adult costs $23.

And yes, Adelaide Oval match the Hill will be rocking. Its not gonna be the best view, but its gonna have a kickass atmosphere.

Wonder if Johnny will be there?

I finish work for the year on December 14th but will be away for that weekend, then back again, then off to Melbourne and Victa between the 20th-30th so I'll have to miss both the 14th & 28th :thumbsd:

Eat Food, Eat Beer :D, watch cricket, play pool, golf. Whatever.

Pool Hall somewhere is always good.

Or just a normal pub with pool. But You need a pinball machine and darts if you are going to a pub.

Some racists like ST don't like foreigny sports like sokkah so a pub meal and pints would be good, I would be keen as... and it's getting warm these days so it would go down a treat.

If I were going I'd vote for one of:

Earl of Leicester (Not too sure if the shnitzel is still on the menu but a great all round pub that never disappoints, impossible to get a park if it's busy though)

Alma (Superb beer garden. If you were looking at eating outside Alma would probably be the way to go, great area for the smokers too. Food goes alright as well, great parmies)

Tap Inn (Probably the most amazing pub in Adelaide. You can actually watch people playing golf while you're taking a piss! Pretty weird location but great value for money, easy parking.)

Bath (Awesome underrated pub on the parade, great outdoor area like the Alma however I've been served by Josh Francou there once so obviously poured the beer out and got served by a normal non feral person. Very nice place & location)

Hampstead (Awesome sportsbar and very high quality joint. Not too sure about the outside area though. Very impressive pub with lots of parking)

Id back the Alma. Whilst its not exactly in my local area, being owned by Goody and Roo is supremely appropriate for this. Who knows, if we pick the right time we might even catch some players around there.

OK, how about Lunch at the Alma on Sunday 16th December.

Why?

It's a Sunday and will have more of a chance of getting everone there. Unless big night before.

The Cricket is on Australia vs NZ in Sydney so the players might be there for that. :thumbsu:

Other option is the Friday before that the 14th for the day night match but I doubt that will be televised being that it's in Adelaide. Anyone going to this?

Certainly wouldnt go there for a meal.

Its good weekends for drinking and all, but not really a place id go in daylight.

Rather go to somewhere like the Archers. Huge pints and all there.

Shite service at the Archer. Had a booking there, called that day to sort some things out. Turned up and they backed out on what they had agreed to and even managed to apparently 'forget' the booking. I wasn't the only one to confirm the booking that day either...

Somewhere in town is always preferable.

If not, id vote for the Alma or Even the Crows Tavern.

As has been discussed, if we decide early enough, we could geta few players down and they could ahve a chat with us and we can interact with things they like and if they have any ideas for the group.

Even if they dont come, id still like to meet osme players and find out if they have any ideas.

Im glad someone said it.

I think some people are getting ahead of themselves, its like they expect that the clubs owes us something. They are doing us a favour by giving us tickets its not the other way around.

I hate when supporter groups think they are more important than what they are. I.E The Fanatics and to a lesser extent the Adelaide and Melbourne soccer team cheer squads.

From the the conversations I have had with David the club is very greatful that we are supporting the AFC and are willing to help make a cultral change with them by either moving membership to a new area or having people get together as a group that already has membership. This is something they wanted.

BTW: They are not giving tickets, we are buying tickets and if getting some noise levels up means giving us priority for the cause then I see that as a fair trade.

In respect to meeting players it has a positive and benefit for the players aswell as us. They could tell us what chants fire them up. It would make them aware of us and who we are. Building relationships between players and the crowd is the whole point of this. Look at the big supporter groups, when a player gets a goal they turn to the supporters and fire the **** up as if they are their mates. The CSG just isn't noisy enough. The players want more noise and I am sure they would like to have a say in how we the Gun Club make that noise. :thumbsu:

It doesn't have to a be formal request, besides David is an ok guy and if he thinks we are asking to much he would just say so. Maybe just mention to the players where we would be and leave it up to them. I think he, the players and the club would see it as a benefit. :thumbsu:

This isn't getting ahead of ourselves but it is exactly what the doctor ordered. ;)

Wouldn't mind seeing Nikki serving us drinks at some point though.

$20 for 25 laps casual driving (+$2 for a day membership or $6 for 1 year)

On Tuesdays its half price for members. There's also Grand Prix format races available.
