Why not have each team's best defender as well?

In which case it's Geelong by even further.:)

4-1-2-1-2

Not bad but a 4-4-2 works well enough.

Carlton, but only by the depth of a bottomless pit......

On paper Hawthorn, in performance Geelong (the latter is what you should base your judgments on) by the length of the bass strait, and there is a significant difference between those 2 "P's". i.e Judd hasn't even played a game in navy blue yet, so how can it be the best formation, looks good, but does it function good?

How noone is saying Geelong is utterly rediculous, considering Mooney took 160 odd marks and kicked 60 goals, was AA, and was comfortably the best contested forward in the game. Then there's the Brownlow medallist and the games most in form, dynamic and damaging midfielder.

Please people get your acts together.

Not sure what that formation means but Geelong, Hawthorn & Brisbane would be the best performed this year. Although one of those finished outside the 8 so doesn't say a lot.

Nice one.

Carlton looks the best. Closely followed by Geelong, Hawks and Brisbane. The Pav puts Freo next, and Lynch ensures WC last.

Good thread. I think Brisbane's is the best.

Well the Blues have Judd, who is not only the best midfielder in the AFL, but the best player in the AFL. Plus they have Fev, who is the best FF in the AFL by a long way. So on that basis, the Blues #1 easily. Brown and Franklin are awesome forwards, and so Brisbane and Hawks would be in the second group. Adcock is a middle tier player, and Blacks best days are in the past, so probably Hawks next. The Cats have some great midfielders in Bartell and Ablett, but Mooney, while having a lot of heart, is no where near the quality of Fev, Brown and Franklin, so they slip past Brisbane - just. Both the Freagle teams are solid bottom. Pav is good, but their other midfielders are one-paced has-beens. The Weagles have Kerr, who is good, but the other 2 are solid ordinary. So...

#1 Blues
#2 Large gap
#3 Hawks
#4 Brisbane
#5 Geelong
#6 Very large gap
#7 The Freagles. Freo > Weagles

:)

4-4-2

Right Back, Central Defender, Central Defender, Left Back
Right Midfielder, Central Midfielder, Central Midfielder, Left Midfielder
Forward Forward

Usually the RM and LM are pacy players, good on the ball, with the ability to beat defenders and get crosses in, also, normally one of the central midfielders is defensively minded and the other attack minded, and sometimes one of the forwards can play off the other forward.

But generally, most sides line up with a 4-4-2 formation and that is the best

Brown is the best FF in the AFL easily. Franklin, Lloyd, Lucas, Pavlich and B Johnson are all better than Fev just to name a few.

Fevola 9 my arsehole, you Carlton fans and bloody Fevola. What 6 goals one week, 0 the next two weeks, and a few dummy spits and off field contraversies to boot.

Jesus you Carlton fans overrate him, what has he done other than one good season, to justify you regarding him so highly? It's pathetic.

lol. If a Collingwood supporter is having a little hissy fit over Fev's 9 rating, then it's safe to assume he's actually 9.5. It is time to watch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCz_R2YDlZU) and learn. Extreme Talent. Enjoy. :)

Pretty similar to mine although I think you have vastly over rated Nick Stevens ability - he is a seagull. I rate him no higher than Heath Black. Josh Carr would be higher if it was solely based on his time at Port and games against West Coast.

Amazing that you say that. Black was sensational this year and showed no signs of age at all. For most of the year, played as good as he did when he won the Brownlow.
