2008 Collingwood Buddy Draft - General Information

Ok, so LF50 tries this last year but nobody really did it, so this year we may be getting a sub-forum to do it in.

Most of you will know how it works
A poster will get paired up with a player and during the pre-season and each round, you report on your player.
Post articles, pictures, reports ect.

This year it will be done a bit different.
We only want people who are very commited and will post alot, we don't want people who will only post a couple of times
COMMITED POSTERS ONLY
Now we have that out of the way.....

I will divide the people who put their name down into two groups.
One group being the posters I know will post alot and then those who don't post as much.

Ok so put your name down if you would like to be invloved.
We will probly get more than we need but we will sort out who to cut when we get up to that stage.

Sorry if it sounds unfair but hopefully you can understand, we don't want posters who are not going to post holding up a position for someone who is willing to put alot into this.

Hopeing to get this up and running as soon as I can, so people can do reports during the pre-season, post articles and what not.

Personally, I would be in the group that can report of AFL players. They don't show the VFL games up here at all, but I can get every AFL match.

I'm keen to go around again and as someone said if theres a place to write about our buddie's I will endeavour to do it more often. I know I stood up for my buddy alot last year maybe that counts as something.

Maybe it would have been better to wait until preseason to do this. I don't come here very much in the off-season and I'm sure there's more people in the same boat.

That's what LF50 did last year and a good idea.

Randomly set the regular posters, as Savo alluded too previously, with the top few selections and then the rest of the team with the remaining selections.

Once Nick Savo has arranged the order, each buddy can select their own player from who is left available.

doesn;t matter if someone has already put down that person, put down who you want.

then once we hav the right amount of people, if there is 2-3 or even 4 people with lets say, thomas then i will talk to the mods on who we rekon would be best to report on Thomas and the reast will have to pick from who is left.

I will put who you would like next to your name, this doesnt mean you have them, I repeat this DOES NOT mean they are your buddy, its is just a preffrence

This is not first in best dressed, just put down who you would like

This seems a really tedious way to do it...most people will pick the same few players, leaving the majority of posters without a player...so the process would then have to be repeated with what's left...again some will be left without a player...and so on.

Draft is just soooo much easier (and interesting). Who's with me? :cool:

I am on the net every day, checking out BF, 365, nick's, and official CFC, as well as checking up on my favourite bands etc.
I will try my hardest to commit to a role if it is given to me. If I think I can't keep it up, I will inform someone, not just slip in to the wild blue yonder.

I was just looking at the Port board at theirs and I could do what blackdiamond has done and make each thread for each player and post their profile, but no one else post in the board until we have done the draft, or do you want to wait until the draft is done

This is your baby nick_savo so totally up to you but my suggestion would be to undertake the draft in the forum so it will be available later for reference. We could then have a thread on every single player which is the responsibility of the person who drafts that players and then possibly a miscellaneous thread where we can have general chats about stuff!! That way the amount of threads can be kept low and all player stuff can be accessible. Another option would be to sticky every single player and then have other threads after!?!?!

Just trying to help, but I'd be happy with whatever!

We get Jabso to make the sub-forum and we get this thread moved over to it
I will make a new thread for the draft to be held in.
Once the draft is held I will make a thread with the players name and then the person who got the player can take over, first up they could post a profile ect

but one problem we could have would be newbs making threads in the board....
Maybe once all the threads are made, it can be locked from threads being made, and if any threads are made during the time of the draft they could be deleted....?
