I've heard some big wraps on this kid. Could be a real crowd favourite.
I watched the "AFL Wrap" on Fox Sports and they had a camera on him when he was selected by the Swans and he seemed very happy which is a good sign.

"Weaver: Stocky, cranky, aggressive, pack-charging, fist-pumping cannonball. I love that he does everything at full speed. No cruising around stylishly looking for options - get the ball, tuck it under an arm, run through something. Get-stuck-into-em. Probably lacks a yard of pace but it doesn't show because he goes full tilt all the time. Probably lacks some class - doesn't let it matter. Question about whether he can nudge it up to 11 amongst adults - but if Campbell Brown can cut it then Vez should too."

From looking at stats on the TAC Cup site he's got a pretty good ratio of effective/ineffective kicks but the thing about his kicking is hurt factor. He kicks with a lot of penetration and often it is very damaging disposal. I love the way he'll tuck the ball under his arm, have a bounce or two and kick a low, hard ball 55m.
Not only does he have hurt factor IMO, but he also has that X Factor. He just seems like the sort of player that will bob up and do something unpredictable and game turning."

There isn't a lot Veszpremi can't do. If he is in the middle he is a hard-tackling presence, in the back line he will amass a large number of kicks, and he has shown an ability to kick a useful number of goals when put forward. So there are also plenty of reasons why he would go a few picks earlier and land in the first round.
If The Eagles do get this pick, there should be a number of players from over there that will interest them. While Pears, Notte and possibly Myers last until this pick, there will be other good prospects from WA to choose from too."

yeah my cousin has played against both of the guys picked up by the swans from the knights and rates both VERY highly. so im pretty pleased with him being a swan.

Vez is a very good get at 11 IMO. Is really hard at it, has clean hands, has courage in spades and loves to back himself with the footy. Is ultra versatile too, can play as a sweeper across half back, through the middle (both as an inside or outside player) or up forward. Is a lovely kick of the footy, although he's very, very one-sided, almost Scott Lucas esque, but has acknowledged that he'll do his best to fix that. Struggled a lot this year with injuries and at the start of the year was touted as a top-5 pick. People question his size/endurance, but his skin-fold measurements at DC weren't all that bad. He also ran a 13.10 beep test at the start of the year, so his endurance should be fine. He's just one that can lose condition quickly when he's inactive due to injury. The best comparison I've heard is with Luke Hodge; big-bodied, tough, versatile and a very long, very accurate kick of the footy but very one-sided. Isn't quite as physical as Hodgey yet, but with a few pre-seasons under his belt and with a bigger body that could improve to Hodge's level.
Hopefully he gets some games this year, but doesn't Roos have a bit of a reputation for not playing the youngsters early on?

When you're blessed with a settled 22 cause of lack of injuries (thank you footy gods) it's always going to be hard for younger players to break in. Slowly but surely some have made their mark over the last few seasons like Malceski, Schmidt to name the few that have.

Pretty well from what I've seen in the reserves, best for the reserves a couple of times, but injuries have been a setback .. regardless, I'm superrr excited to see how he's going. 08 debutant material once he improves his endurance.

How's Vez travelling Sydney supporters..?
Remember him playing in the under 18's, very tough and courageous and thought he had a ready made body to play AFL, but haven't seen him play as yet. Would've thought he had gotten a game by now, so just interested in what has been going on with this kid, whether it is injuries, poor form or neither. Cheers.

Seems with our recent run with injuries, his fitness may be deemed satisfactory in 2-4 weeks. He's tearing the games apart with the game time he can manage. His form is FAR from poor. Its him missing game time & pre season due to injury that his fitness isn't up to AFL scratch .. could probably run out 30-40 minutes of an AFL game before flattening out.
Amazing player from what I've seen in the reserves, one of my favourites alongside Davis by now. Hopefully he debuts at the Geelong game at home :)
